 1917 Ford Model T Roadster

This car is one of the nicest driving T's I have ever owned. This car actually attracts more attention than any other car I own. Starts easy within a few lifts of the crank cold, warm....first piston up. Mileage is unknown...ebay requires the field to be populated with a number. This car is in very nice shape, a few imperfections(shown in photos) as to be expected but overall an 8 out of 10 on appearance. The lanterns work as do the headlights. New 6 volt battery and the car does run on the mags. The bands are very smooth while engaging in forward and rearward movement. This is a very much sought after year/ body type and there are not many around like this one.....believe me when I tell you that the older T's are hard to find in the condition of this well preserved specimen. The 1917 is the first of the "black" cars right after the brass era and the first with the new styled radiator, curved & crowned fenders and the larger hood eliminating the step at the cowl just to name a few. I'm sure that plenty more can be said about this car.....Any questions, feel free to call 214.592.2308 and ask for Mark. Phone is a much faster way to obtain information as I do not spend much time in front of the computer. Thank you! Be on top.....first bid can own this car....don't miss this one!

***Just to add another quick note.... due to many offers on this car to pay with paypal as everyone knows these people are out there.....I can not accept paypal for this sale. Cash in person, Cleared cashiers check or Bank wire to my account will be the only methods of payment accepted. Scammers...please move on. Thank you!

2015 Ford F-150 shaves 700 pounds, adds 2.7-liter EcoBoost [w/video]

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

The Ford F-150 is one of the best selling vehicles on the planet. Considering that, one can imagine that when it comes time for a redesign, there are hardly any half measures. For its lucky thirteenth generation, Ford has gone all-in on the single most important vehicle in its portfolio, redesigning it from the ground up.
The big news is the F-150's new, lightweight, Atlas-inspired body. Ninety-three percent of that new body is made from a sort of aluminum alloy not unlike what the US military uses in its M2 Bradley fighting vehicles and Humvees, and it accounts for up to 70 percent of the F-150's 700-pound weight reduction. As a side benefit, the aluminum body should prove more resistant to dents and dings. Built Ford tough, indeed.
If you're wondering where the other 30 percent of that 700-pound weight loss went, 8.5 percent (60 pounds) came from the increased use of high-strength steel (up from 23 percent to 77 percent) in its ladder-box frame. Ford claims this steel is comparable to some of the heavy duty pickups used by its competitors, with a PSI rating of 70,000.

Ford Explorer Jackson Pollock Edition results in trip to hospital

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

Among the many useful pieces of driving advice we've taken to heart over the years, "Safely secure all cargo" is etched pretty high on our personal stone tablets. We've had a couple of frustrating moments over the years (numerous wonky cupholders and too-tall lidded cups; a radar detector that released its suction cups and dashed itself below the dashboard, etc.), but never anything like the scene above.
These photos above come courtesy of the Washington State Patrol, and they show the unfortunate aftermath of a driver, his dog, and his Ford Explorer after it crashed near the town of Belfair last week. According to reports, the man was schlepping five-gallon containers of paint inside his vehicle when he was involved in an unexplained accident. It's not clear what triggered the crash, but the impromptu abstract painting covered the whole of the interior, including the driver and his faithful companion.
The man was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries, and his dog was cleaned and later taken to a humane society.

Ford reveals automated Fusion Hybrid

Thu, 12 Dec 2013

Autonomous cars may still be in their infancy, but more and more big names in the auto industry are diving in head first. Nissan is already making strides with a semi-autonomous Leaf EV and General Motors is planning to offer semi-autonomous tech by 2020. And then there's Google, doing its thing with a fleet of Toyota Prius. Now, Ford is showing off its latest automated effort, a driverless Fusion Hybrid.
Partnering with the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and State Farm Insurance, the project is part of Ford's Blueprint for Mobility, the company's plan for transportation beyond 2025. "The Ford Fusion Hybrid automated vehicle represents a vital step toward our vision for the future of mobility," Chairman Bill Ford said. "We see a future of connected cars that communicate with each other and the world around them to make driving safer, ease traffic congestion and sustain the environment."
The automated Fusion features four LiDAR infrared sensors that scan the road 2.5 million times every second, using a principle similar to the echolocation used by dolphins or bats. Using the infrared light emitted by the LiDAR, the car can draw a picture of everything within 200 feet to create a map of its surroundings. According to Ford, the sensors are able to tell the difference between a paper bag and a small animal from a football field away.
