Listed is 1929 Ford Model Roadster Pickup. This restoration was recently completed in February 2014. This truck was built by a retired aircraft mechanic. This truck was taken apart, stripped, painted and was re-assembled. When re-assembled, the owner wanted it original but very driveable. Over $6000 was spent on the stock Model A engine block to include a Neal Jern ‘Thunderbolt’ Model A overhead valve conversion. A 6:1 compression adapter, new stainless steel valves with hard chrome stems carbide tips and swirl polished, Stainless steel seats and new valve springs. A ‘Zipper’ distributor, fitted with a Pertronix ignition. A 1932 Model ‘B’ Leak Less water pump, new Stromberg model 97 carburetor, pistons, crank and all other related engine components. Then to be fuel efficient so he masterfully fitted a T-5, 5 speed transmission to the drive train.  Then he gave it a hydraulic brake conversion. This truck is the best of all worlds and runs comfortably at 60 MPH at 2000 RPM’s. I has run upward of 75MPH with no inhibitions at all. This truck is converted to a 12 Volt system to include headlights, cowl lights and brake lights. The truck also has a radiator stone guard, a new interior and wooden bed side rails. The truck comes complete with side curtains. The pickup bed wood was also replaced as part of the restoration as well. Please see the accompanying pictures of this unique Model A truck and judge for yourself.  No expense was spared with receipts to accompany the truck.  Seller reserves the right to end the auction as the truck is for sale locally. Buyer is responsible for shipping ; seller will assist your shipper in any reasonable manner. Bank to bank wires are preferred. Please call Steve at 732-895-1227 with any questions between 9 am and 9 pm eastern time. Truck sold as is.

New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.

Martini Mustang is a 'what if moment' gone right

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

Feast your eyes on a masterpiece. This is Steve Strope's Ford Mustang in the classic fastback bodystyle, and as you'll notice, it sports the signature colors of Martini Racing, a livery that's as legendary as any Gulf Racing-styled car. But the red, white and blues of the Martini stripe down this Mustang's middle tell only a very small part of the story, in the latest video from Petrolicious.
What would you guess is under the hood? A 289-cubic-inch V8? Maybe a 302, or some absurd Ford crate engine? Maybe Strope went all Tokyo Drift - he's actually responsible for the "Hammer" Plymouth Satellite driven by Vin Diesel at the end of the movie - and found an RB26DETT to drop into the pony car? You'd be wrong on all counts.
This mad, mad man somehow finagled a Ford-Lotus engine from a 1966 Indianapolis 500 car into the Mustang's engine bay. Yes, a Mustang with an engine designed for a 160-mile-per-hour, open-wheel racecar. That's like someone in 40 years dropping McLaren's 2.4-liter V8 from the MP4-28 into a Scion FR-S. It'd just make a monster.

2015 Ford Mustang vs. Camaro and Challenger [w/poll]

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

The horsepower wars are tightening among the Detroit Three, as the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger are getting bigger, more powerful, and yes, more fuel efficient.
That came into sharper focus this week as more information was revealed about the most insane Challenger ever - the 707-horsepower Hellcat - followed quickly by Ford's in-depth showcase of the 2015 Mustang in Dearborn.
It's shaping up to be a golden age for enthusiasts, and what's under the hood is becoming more important than ever.
