Ford Galaxie 500--awesome, Low Mile Car on 2040-cars
Spring, Texas, United States
HISTORY:
I believe that this has been a desert car all of its life, and has had four owners (a grandfather, and grandson, Prescott Automotive, and me. I am also convinced that the mileage is true and correct based on the fantastic condition of the body , chassis, and mechanicals. CONDITION: I drive it once or twice a month on the weekends, and I take it to the Monthly car rally in the Woodlands, TX , but have never left it out overnight, nor do I drive it in the rain. The 289 engine is not as hot as the 390 or 427, but it's reliable and runs flawlessly. It can still cruise smoothly at 80-85 mph if you want to. And it could be driven from Houston to your destination with a high degree of confidence. What's left? If I
were to keep it, I would replace the chrome trim, the interior door panels, rechrome the front bumper, and replace the
driver's side window regulator (which rolls up and down, but not how you'd like
it and is an annoyance). Also, there is
a slight drip from the transmission gasket which may or may not be due to the
infrequent driving. Also, the gas gauge works when it wants to, but I think it is just a loose ground. If you want, I've give you any old, new or unused parts that I have kept including the old carb, manifold, Galaxie hubcaps, etc. Payment detailsDeposit via PayPal is preferred

Watch this Ford F-150 SVT Raptor fly like an eagle [UPDATE]
Mon, 04 Feb 2013The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is a very capable truck right out of the box, but "capable" has never translated into "invincible." Just ask the owner of the machine in this video. In it, the driver gets frisky with an aggressive jump with plenty of speed on his hands. The result is enough air to make Vaughn Gittin Jr. blush. As always, it's not the launch that's painful, but the re-entry. Gravity eventually asserts its dominance over the $43,630 pickup in a big way, and when it comes crashing down, it does so with a vengeance.
The impact was hard enough to set off both the alarm and multiple airbags inside the cabin. It's unclear if anyone was injured in the stunt, but we certainly wouldn't be surprised to hear that was the case. You can check out the stunt in the video below, and remember, when in doubt, back out of the throttle. Be warned, there may be some explicit/NSFW language in the clip.
UPDATE: Second video added with an even better look at the jump added below.
Ford hiring 2,200 salaried US workers this year
Fri, 11 Jan 2013With its influx of popular new products made in the US, Ford Motor Company has announced that it intends to hire 2,200 new salaried workers domestically this year. This is the biggest increase of salaried workers for Ford in the last 10 years, and it is all a part of Ford's contract commitment to the United Auto Workers union to bring 12,000 new jobs to the US by 2015.
There were no specifics as to where in the US these job openings will be, but Ford did reiterate that it will be spending $773 million on equipment upgrades and capacity expansion at six plants located in southeast Michigan; as a whole, Ford is investing a total of $6.2 billion to its US assembly plants over the next couple years. According to recently appointed president of the Americas Joe Hinrichs, the new jobs will be focused on areas such as engineering, manufacturing and computer software. Ford will post its job openings online at careers.ford.com, and it will also use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to recruit new workers, including military veterans.

NHTSA releases updated Takata airbag recalled cars list, but it still has errors
Wed, 22 Oct 2014
Unfortunately, the government's list still contains errors.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued an updated list of vehicle models that it's urging owners to repair under the mushrooming Takata airbag inflator recall. The latest version adds vehicles from new automakers like Subaru and Ford that are missing from the original announcement, and it also removes erroneous entries from General Motors, leaving only the 2005 Saab 9-2X (a reskinned Subaru WRX), and the 2003-2005 Pontiac Vibe, a joint project with Toyota.
