The heads are low rieser, that have been decked, port and polished, and a valve job with new springs and seals. it has a comp cam with solid lifters and new cam bearings. the block was  took  apart and checked , the main bearings, rods, pistons, and piston walls were good and re assembled. the compression is good. It has been rebuilt and refurbished and has less then 200 miles on the build. it still has the old singal point distributor in it but comes with a jacobs electronic ignition system and coil, has accell 10.8mm wires and new plugs. the carb is a fearly new edelbrock 850. the motor runs good and strong with 24psi oil pressure at idle and 65 psi at 3500. it has good vacume at 15lbs. it has a gm 1 wire alternator. has a large aluminum radiator with a giant electric fan. never had over heating problems and likes to run around 170 degrees but as it sits it leaks oil out of the back of the manifold and it needs to be resealed , its small, but will leave a spot in the driveway, there is a 4 speed transmission that came out of a ford mustang .it has a resurfaced fly wheel and a new 11" clutch . it has a ford 9" with a spool and 3.00 gears so you could drive it to shows. It has 28 spline axles and the rear end has been fully rebulit. the rear end has been fliped and raised about 4 inchs in the rear.and a custom built drive line. the whole car has been rewired from headlights to tail lights. it has a new fuse block and every thing is fused. the car has been fully gutted and lightened by about 500 lbs. when the suspension was just done it had new rear leaf springs, front leaf springs, new axle, new spindles, new disk brakes in front rebuilt rear drums. new brake lines, and a new triple master cylender set up by wilwood.new hydrolic slave cylender. new tie rod, and center link. all custom built and this is a fully custom built front end with a 6" lift. it has new front rims and tires. the tires still have good tread, but should be replaced for racing or highway driving. it has a holly 7 to 9 psi fuel pump, and a newer 22 gallon fuel cell. it has a clean california title, but not current, i think he has it in non op, and he cant find the lic plate, he had it off and is looking for it, its fun to drive but it takes some guts, needs very little work to be race ready, there is only a windsheild but he has the rear side windows, most of the work was done in 2009, but not sure if it was a real race car from back in the day, but built as a tribute to the way it would have been built, to make it race ready, the seat belts are out of date,1995, and there needs to be an outside battery switch, the tires are old

so ask questions

dont wait, it is for sale locally and auction might end at anytime

if you gotta have it make an offer for a buy it now

Ford pulls official support from top-level NHRA teams

Sun, 11 Aug 2013

As the smallest team in the sport, it wasn't really a surprise when Dodge decided to pull out of NASCAR, but Autoweek is reporting that Ford is looking to pull the plug on its professional-level NHRA sponsorships following the 2014 season. With attendance and television ratings down, the article reports that Ford is just backing out of the top series but will remain active in the Sportsman classes of racing, which are geared more toward the grassroots and semi-professional racers.
This means that one of drag racing's biggest names, John Force, will be left looking for new sponsorship after next season. Force, 64, has been with Ford for 17 years, winning 15 championships in that time and winning almost half of all Funny Car events in his Mustang since he started working with Ford in 1997, but after 2014, there could be some big shakeups at John Force Racing.
According to the report, Force would consider is moving over to the Top Fuel dragster series, although he could also move to another manufacturer to remain in the Funny Car series. With Ford on the way out, this leaves just Toyota and Dodge as the remaining active automakers in the highest levels of drag racing.

Muscle wins big at 2013 Amelia Island Concours as 1936 Duesenberg, 1968 Ford GT40 take top honors

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The 18th-annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance took place this past weekend, and in one of the show's biggest years yet (bringing in more than 25,000 spectators and attracting more than 300 vehicles), two powerhouses ended up winning the judges' hearts. The top Concours d'Elegance award went to a 1936 Duesenberg SJN, while the Concours de Sport went to one of the celebrated marques, a 1968 Ford GT40.
Owned by Helen and Jack Nethercutt of Sylmar, CA, this flawless Duesy is described as "one of the most powerful open cars of the 1930s," and it displays design cues of the era like rolled fenders and a tapered rear end. The SJN's supercharged straight-eight allowed it to accelerate to 100 miles per hour in just 17 seconds - surely not a disappointing feat for its day.
On a much different level of performance and timelessness, this Gulf-livery GT40 from the Rocky Mountain Auto Collection is not outdone by the elegance of the big Duesenberg thanks to some well-documented racing history. This not only includes winning at LeMans in both 1968 and 1969 - Chassis No. 1075 also managed to win a total of six times in just 11 races.

Ford debuts Fusion NASCAR racer that edges closer to stock [w/video]

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

The sixth-generation NASCAR Sprint Cup racecar, which will make its competition debut at the 2013 Daytona 500 this weekend, marks the closest thing to a "stock car" that the sport has seen in more than 20 years. No longer using just stickers to distinguish the different brands, the image above shows the lengths NASCAR and automakers went in order to create a racecar design that more closely resembles the individual cars they represent.
Ford, one of the more open and vocal OEMs regarding the Gen6 car's development, is giving us a closer look at its racing version of the Fusion with a pretty revealing side-by-side comparison with last years' racer (click above for an expanded view). Aside from the more realistic front end and production-like body lines, the overall shape, dimensions and proportions have also been designed to give the racecar a more stock appearance. Most of the new racer was designed by the Ford Design Center, which the automaker says was the first time it has been so involved in the design process since the 1960s. Of course, one area the Sprint Cup Fusion really differs from the production Fusion is its Ford Racing 5.8-liter V8 producing around 850 hp. Can you say Fusion SVT?
