Up for sale is this real clean 1964 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible. We are a Ford dealership in southeast Iowa and have been in business for over 53 years. If you want a car that is turn key, ready to drive and enjoy, this one is it. The previous owner used to own a auto repair shop, then retired, and now works on some cars for himself. This car was his own, so he worked on it until everything was fixed. It has a 170 6 cylinder engine, automatic trans, It starts, runs, and drives perfect. The original data plate is still on the drivers door and it reads: Body 76A, Color P, Trim 64, Date o6E, DSO 32, Axle 5, and Trans 3. The original vin number is still stamped in the left front inner fender. Also, in the trunk, is still the original build sheet as seen in the picture. This was a solid southern car, and it has no rust in the quarters or any other area's. The floor boards are original, and as solid as they get. The doors open and close just like they did when they were new. The windows all roll up and down perfect. The front bumper has a bad spot on it about 2 inches by 5 inches. The rear window zipper is separated a little bit at the top, but could be repaired pretty easy. The engine was just rebuilt, using the original block and head. The original trans has been rebuilt and shifts real good. Other parts that have been replaced are: water pump, blower motor, distributor, starter, muffler, tailpipe, rear pinion seal, rear cover gasket, spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, points, condenser, belt, heater hose, antifreeze, trans fluid, radiator hoses, starter solenoid, and crankshaft balancer, The paint has been refreshed, and looks real good. The seats are original, and he put seat belts in it, so he could give his grand kids a ride in it. If you have any questions, please feel to call the previous owner. His name is Larry, and his cell phone is 641-891-2925. Good luck bidding, and whoever gets this car will certainly be happy.

Ford F-100 'Snakebit' shown off by Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed at SEMA
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Ford, along with KISS bassist Gene Simmons and his wife, Shannon Tweed, used SEMA as a backdrop to pull the covers off Snakebit, a 1956 Ford F-100 pickup truck that's been updated with Shelby Mustang-derived styling bits and a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine. All 550 horsepower are funneled through a six-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels.
Underneath the custom bodywork sits a chassis that's been stretched five inches and a bed widened and bedecked with billet machined pieces that are supposed to look like wood. The 20-inch rear and 18-inch front wheels ape those of past Shelby Mustang models. The interior is swathed in two-tone leather with a bench seat designed to look - try to act surprised - like a Shelby Mustang.
Like what you see? Bidding for the truck will take place in 2014 at an unspecified Barrett-Jackson event (we'd assume Scottsdale). Proceeds will be used to help build a children's hospital in Saskatoon, in the province of Saskatchewan, where Ms. Tweed grew up. See the high-res gallery above and the press release down below for more.
2015 Ford C-Max gets a corporate nose job [w/video]
Thu, 02 Oct 2014Ford might not have the splashiest booth here at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but the automaker is showing off quite a bit of hardware that will actually end up on roads across Europe. Parisians are no doubt tickled at getting to see the specifications of the Mustang tuned for The Continent (which has a revised suspension for European roads, and a few visual nips and tucks), in addition to the revised face of the family-friendly C-Max.
As you can see, C-Max styling has been revisited with a deft touch, grafting Ford's six-sided corporate grille on the nose, in place of the outgoing car's two-part affair. New headlights can also be found on the car's revised front fascia, though the rear end of the C-Max looks only slightly different than the current version.
Inside the cabin, Ford has consolidated controls and upped the ante in terms of material quality, with "black satin" and chrome details and more storage capacity, overall. Grocery-lugging moms and dads everywhere should appreciate the hands-free liftgate feature, as well.
White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes
Fri, 07 Dec 2012At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.
