This is a 1963 Ford Falcon Futura convertible, car is 99% original. interior is original, or restored original. car still has the original keys from 1963, no rust on car.
all interior/ ext. light work, horn works, not missing anything anywhere.
I was told by previous owner car has been repainted, was repainted the factory color. paint on trunk lid is original and matches car perfectly.
I believe the 57k miles to be authentic mileage based on condition of the vehicle. you wont find this car again unless you have a time machine.
the only modification I know of is the car was converted to floor shift due to the column shift parts being obsolete. still have all the original column shift parts if you wanted to go back to all original. pictures were taken before floor shift was installed
interior is a 10+ to be 50 years old. power top works, top is in good shape, 2 tears on the inside of the top, not in the top but in the actual fabric underneath the top.
dash pad is near perfect.
a cd player was installed, under dash, left the AM radio in it and did not mess with the wiring.
it is a 3 speed with 170 inline 6. fires up as soon as you turn the key and drives in a straight line even when you let go of the wheel.
it is a real time capsule.
the rear window on the passenger side needs to be realigned, it comes off track from time to time and needs assistance.
I would have no problem driving anywhere.
you can call with questions or email me

please contact me with question before bidding.
this car is a mostly original 1963 car.. it is an excellent condition driver, but I would not call it "show quality"
as there are small imperfections here in there

payment must be paid in full within 7 days with non refundable deposit made 24hrs of auction closing
On Mar-05-13 at 18:49:11 PST, seller added the following information:

On Mar-06-13 at 15:41:55 PST, seller added the following information:It has been brought to my attention that the seat covers are not the original fabric. The guy says they did not have cloth inserts in 1963. they are in really good shape however. I just want to make sure all details I give are accurate. This car has had restorations on it over the years to keep up appearances but the majority of this car is original.

BMW to follow Honda back into F1?
Mon, 14 Apr 2014The economic downturn wrought devastating effects on motor racing. Formula One alone lost half its engine suppliers when Honda left at the end of the 2008 season, and both BMW and Toyota followed at the end of 2009. But things are looking up again. Cosworth may have dropped out this season, reducing the engine suppliers to three: Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes, the latter of which admits that it may have left had the engine formula not changed. But Mercedes has stayed and is dominating the championship. Honda is coming back next season. And word around the paddock is it may not be the only one.
According to Giancarlo Minardi - founder of the team now known as Scuderia Toro Rosso - BMW engineers have been conspicuously spotted lately at F1 test sessions and grands prix, lending to speculation that the new engine regulations may entice the Bavarian automaker back into the series. According to Minardi, BMW's marketing division is pushing for the automaker's return to F1, with the board slated to make a decision in May. BMW would be more likely to consider an engine-supply deal rather than taking a team over like it had with Sauber, but with which team or teams it might collaborate remains a big question mark at this point.
As if that's not enough, Ford is said to be considering taking over Cosworth's aborted V6 turbo engine program to take both outfits back into the sport as well. Cosworth supplied F1 engines under the Ford banner for years, but returned under its own name for four seasons from 2010 through 2013 before shuttering its program to develop an engine to meet the new regulations adopted this season.
Tanner Foust tackles 'Ring in SVT Raptor
Sat, 16 Mar 2013Here's a math problem: if Tanner Foust has a 24 hours to kill in Germany and one blue Ford Raptor, how long will it take him to decide he wants to lap The Nürburgring? Extra credit if you can get your answer precise to the millisecond.
A very truck-like and slidey lap of the 'Ring is exactly what happened when the Ford-sponsored rallycross driver took time off from set-up duties for his 'day job.' Thankfully no one even thought to worry about posting a time, but you can watch some Raptor skid marks getting laid down between the kerbs in the video below.
Ford opens the doors on its Swedish rally skunkworks
Fri, 19 Sep 2014It's always amazing to see how different kinds of racecars are made. Formula One racers are often constructed in modern architectural marvels that hint at some of the cutting-edge technology going into the racing. Conversely, rallying is all about sliding around on a varied course as fast as possible, but it often leaves a vehicle caked in mud. So it makes some sense Olsbergs MSE, or simply (OMSE) rally car shop in Nynashamn, Sweden, shows technological sophistication in a more down-to-earth setting. It builds Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross there, and this new video gives viewers a tour through the work.
Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE. These days instead of racing, he and the company's 46 employees are building Ford racers from scratch. A ton of work goes into constructing each one, and according to Eriksson, it takes 400 hours to complete each body. At times, things are so busy that some of the technicians live in the shop in apartments that are on premises. There's even a restaurant to keep them fed. Sadly the dyno room is empty during this visit, though.
By the time OMSE is done, a rallycross car might resemble a Fiesta ST on the outside, but as you see in the video, it's a completely different beast underneath. Check out the work it takes to build one of them, and scroll down to read more about it in the official release.
