1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Hardtop Coupe 289 V8 No Reserve on 2040-cars
Clifton, New Jersey, United States
Up for sale is my 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Hardtop Coupe with Cruise-o-matic (automatic) transmission. I am selling it because I have no time to enjoy it and finish it. It was rarely used. It has a 289 (4.7L) small block, power steering, and heat. It starts on the first try, drives straight as an arrow, and runs and shifts excellent. It has straight pipes and it sounds awesome. Radio cassette with auxiliary jack and Schosche rear speakers.
Brand new items that I have bought...15"inch U.S. Mag chrome wheels with new Fuzion 225 rears and 215 fronts, Holley electric choke 4 barrel carburetor and Edelbrock manifold, custom headliner, 1 reproduction in-dash front and 2 Scosche rear speakers, 2 new front seat belts, door lock knobs, reproduction front speaker, dome lens and base, full tune up, complete set of door, trunk and glove box locks, chrome thermostat housing and other items. Some original parts that will be included...steering wheel horn and cap, original manifold and 2 barrel carb, some chrome trim and letters, etc. The wheels were non-original rusted chrome steelies, therefore I had to replace them. Sun visors will be included but are not covered with vinyl. What it needs...New paint. The horn needs to be connected to the steering wheel. It has a working air horn with button on the dash. It needs to be tuned because when you depress the pedal all the way at low RPMs, it wants to turn off. Other wise it drives great. The rear lights don't work. They did not too long ago. I suspect it was when I was messing around with the cables as I was cleaning the rear tail light chrome. Front speaker needs to be connected. Passenger door opens from the inside but as I mentioned, new locks will be included. Fuel and temp gauge do not work. Thanks and good luck! This car is sold as-is where-is and has no written or implied warranty. Local pick-up or your automobile transport company. Not responsible for shipping arrangements. |

2015 Ford Mustang renders reveal look of the real thing
Tue, 15 Oct 2013This is, according to the pony-car obsessed kids over at Mustang6G.com, the closest, most accurate rendering of the new, 2015 Ford Mustang to date. Artis Chazcron used a combination of Ford CAD images and information from assorted spy shots to assemble a fairly handsome car, albeit one that conforms to the tired cliché of being more evolutionary than revolutionary.
Now, it's very important to note that these are still speculative renders, and that they only represent the base car - that could explain the lack of the Mustang's vestigial side scoops, along with other, newer styling cues that Mustang6G seems to think will arrive on production models. Those items include a new, double-bubble roof, although the Mustang aficionados claim that even if it were present, it'd barely be visible from these angles.
The front end is pretty spot on, compared to what we've seen from earlier spy shots, while the tail, with its interesting light design is something new. The louvered taillights look quite different from the current version, obviously, though Mustang has gone the whimsical route with taillights before. Also, note the new rear diffuser uses an integrated reverse light and rear foglight, the latter of which is required for sale in Europe.
Saleen previews new 302 Mustang
Thu, 03 Jul 2014The introduction of a new generation of a model like the Ford Mustang may be exciting enough in its own right for enthusiasts, but that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, because you know that Ford itself as well as numerous aftermarket tuners will soon follow up with even more desirable versions. And few Mustang tuners carry quite the same clout of Saleen.
Recently reunited after its previous split, Saleen is back on the map and hard at work on new aftermarket modifications for a wide array of muscle cars. We knew it would only be a matter of time before it would release a new 302 Mustang, and now it's sent out the first image to show us what to expect.
Details are scarce, but House that Steve Built says the 2015 Saleen 302 Mustang "is perfectly positioned as the next American exotic." And it should know, considering that it's the same outfit that produced the Saleen S7 that really was a true American exotic. From the teaser image above we can see that Saleen has given its Mustang a new front air dam, a very wide air scoop on the hood and of course Saleen's trademark slat grille.
2015 Ford F-150 brings big aluminum to the Rust Belt [w/video]
Mon, 13 Jan 2014Just when you thought you'd figured the fullsize truck market out, Ford goes and throws us a massive curve ball with the 2015 F-150. The big headline news aren't tow or payload ratings, though we're sure those figures will be fully competitive if not class leading, they haven't yet been announced. Instead, the big headline news Ford is highlighting are the truck's new aluminum-intensive structure and 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
And with good reason - all that aluminum means that Ford was able to cut a massive 700 pounds from the truck's curb weight. That is going to cause all sorts of great things to happen to the 2015 F-150's driving dynamics, performance and fuel efficiency, not to mention its ability to haul heavy loads. For those customers worried about the strength of aluminum versus the more conventional steel, Ford is quick to point out that many military vehicles, such as the HMMWV and Bradley Fighting Vehicle, use a very similar sort of aluminum alloy in their construction.
It's also worth mentioning that the backbone, a fully boxed ladder frame, is hewn from high-strength steel. Ford says "2015 Ford F-150 is the strongest and most durable F-150 ever," for what it's worth, claiming that "torture tested" in labs and in the real world for more than 10 million miles. What's more, the truck, in disguised form, completed all 883 miles of the Baja 1000.
