I am selling a 1963 Ford Fairlane Ranch Wagon.    This classic vehicle has 56000 original miles on it.   I got it from the owners son when his father died.    It had been sitting in a garage for over 30 years.    I got it the way it is and I intended to restore for my son but he has lost interest in this project.     However we start the project by putting in a new gas tank /valve with a lifetime warranty, a new battery and 4 new white wall tires.    Oddly enough this car started right up and it purrs like a kitten.   So .. so smooth.     This is car is a conventional shift.  An "H" pattern gear shift lever is used to shift the 3-speed conventional drive standard transmission. The standard 3-speed "H" shifting pattern is also used with the Overdrive transmission.    When I got this car approximately 5 years it did not run.  It runs so good now.   The two bench seats, front and back definitely need to reupholstered.    The floor boards/pans were completely rotted / rusted out.  We have replaced the front, did not make it to the back yet.   It needs a new a headliner, I have all of the pieces that it requires.   And of course after doing the rear floor boards / pans then it would need a carpet kit.     Now, as I said I started this restoration project.    So I ordered the carpet kit and the rear floor pans and some miscellaneous pieces /odds n ends for the interior which are all still in the boxes in the car.     As you will tell by the photos, it could use a paint job.   It is white with a red stripping down the side.   It has all the original emblems though.     All the windows and doors work perfect.   The dash area even looks fine.     This is a project car for someone who knows the value of this car.   It could be beautiful with the correct restoration.     I also all the original paperwork down to every oil change that was done on this car and  the original book (manual) .     Please email me if you have any questions or would like to see more photos.   My loss is your gain.

Also, if you are winner of this auction I can help you out with the shipping (receiving) of the vehicle.   I own an auto transport business and if you are within our states of travel we can definitely provide you a good price.. If you are not within our transport states then I can still help out by saving you the broker fee to find a transport company.

Ford partnering with MIT, Stanford on autonomous vehicle research

Fri, 24 Jan 2014

Ask any car engineer what's the biggest variable in achieving fuel economy targets, and he'll tell you "the driver." If one human can't understand human driving behavior enough to be certain about an innocuous number like miles per gallon, how is an autonomous car supposed to figure out what hundreds of other drivers are going to do in the course of a day? Ford has enlisted the help of Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to find out.
Starting with the automated Fusion Hybrid introduced in December, MIT will be developing algorithms that driverless cars can use to "predict actions of other vehicles and pedestrians" and objects within the three-dimensional map provided by its four LIDAR sensors.
The Stanford team will research how to extend the 'vision' of that LIDAR array beyond obstructions while driving, analogous to the way a driver uses the entire width of a lane to see what's ahead of a larger vehicle in front. Ford says it wants to "provide the vehicle with common sense" as part of its Blueprint for Mobility, preparing for an autonomous world from 2025 and beyond.

Ford Mustang SVT caught looking fierce on the 'Ring

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

The next-generation Ford Mustang SVT is one of the most anticipated performance cars of the moment. We've already seen it testing multiple times, but it has always been covered is some very heavy camouflage. However, Ford has just given us our best view yet of the new muscle car. According to our spy photographer, the Mustang was at the Nürburgring for high-speed testing, which meant that the Blue Oval had to remove most of the heavy obfuscation that the SVT has worn previously.
The stylish, more revealing camo makes picking out some of the more interesting details about the SVT rather easy. Starting from the front, there is the big hood scoop to feed cold air to its still mysterious engine. You can also immediately make out the model's new grille and lower front air dam. It has a vertical piece running from the bottom of the hood all the way to the ground. The aggressive styling almost gives the 'Stang the look of two fangs ready to bite down. The hood seam is even taped off here, which shows us its outline.
Around the side, it appears that the front and rear fenders are wider than stock, and the sills are certainly much larger. You can also just make out the SVT's bigger brakes behind its black wheels with a polished lip. Finally, at the rear, things appear mostly stock other than the diffuser that the exhaust outlets nestle into.

Bill Ford augments his power by nearly doubling stake of supervoting shares

Fri, 28 Jun 2013

Bill Ford Jr. has more sway than ever over the automaker that bears his surname, as the great-grandson of Ford's founder has reportedly doubled is holdings of Class B Ford stock. According to a report from Reuters (which cites a newly discovered securities filing), he acquired some 3.7 million Class B shares from an unnamed family member.
Class B shares of Ford stock are held by descendants of Henry Ford and offer expanded voting power to their holders - Bill Ford Jr. now controls roughly 11.5 percent of the total Class B pool. Ford Jr. is also a one of five trustees that manage a voting trust that oversees the majority of these "supervoting" shares. In total, Reuters reports there are 71 million Class B shares that account for 40 percent of the voting power in the company, despite making up just 2 percent of the total volume of all Ford stock.
Ford Jr. served as Ford's CEO until 2006, when he stepped down to hire and make space for current CEO, Alan Mulally. The move to consolidate Ford family voting power, at least somewhat, is seen by many as a comforting sign with Mulally's departure from the company likely to happen in the next several years.
