Ormond Beach, Florida, United States

This is a 2007 Ford 550 XL Crew Cab Flatbed Cab and Chassis truck for sale. The truck has 136,203 miles on it, the engine was replaced under 5,000 miles ago, and that engine had 23,000 miles on it when it was placed in the truck so the current engine in the truck has roughly 28,000 miles on it, therefore this truck is honestly just been broken in engine wise. The transmission in this truck is an automatic and one of the best transmissions Ford has put in any of its medium duty trucks. The truck had just been gone over completely less than 5,000 miles ago, ex. All the fluids were changed engine and transmission and front axle, updated engine cooler, and HPOP pump were installed, all new gaskets were installed, blue spring update kit, and many other smaller updates when the engine was replaced. The flat bed measures 11’x7.5’ and has as attached headache rack and gooseneck ball. The truck has been used as a hot shot carrier for most of its life, so most of the miles are high way miles. The truck is 4x4 with a stick on the floor. Included in the sale is a Bridgestone drive tire as a full size brand new spare it matches the tires across the back of the truck, this tire is not mounted on any rim, and a driver’s side under bed mounted tool box approximately 4’x2’x2’, and hazmat placards. Not included in the sale but pictured is the Sirius XM Radio, CB Radio, and the Ram Laptop Mount. The exterior is in good condition minor dents and scratches from normal wear and considering I picked up on construction sites at times off road, the interior is overall good, minor discoloration on the back seat, on small tear about 3” on the seat at the seam, and small scratches from the dog that road with me from time to time. The floor is vinyl and the seats are cloth, this is true work truck in those options, but all the windows are power, the mirrors are powered and heated, there is a CD player and AM/FM Radio in the truck. The windows are tinted heavily. This truck is for sale locally as well and will be removed if it sells locally, so if the listing is up the truck is for sale. The truck is currently registered at 25,999 pounds, but it can be registered anywhere from 16,000 and up depending on your states laws. I welcome commercial entities this truck has a lot of potential being a cab and chassis you can always remove the flatbed and add whatever bed fits your commercial needs. The mileage on the engine is extremely low and the miles on the truck are low for a truck of this class. Feel free to contact me anytime and I would be glad to help you with any questions you may have. My name is Joshua, and my number is (386) 341-0445 and if I do not answer you can always try (386) 290-0006 and ask for Kevin as a secondary option.

Shipping Details: I am willing to transport the vehicle to you anywhere within the lower 48 within 7 days of receiving payment, cost of shipping will be fuel cost plus air fare for me to return to Florida. Thank you for looking at my listing.

1969 Ford Talladega GPT Special is a SEMA showstopper

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

Rad Rides by Troy has unleashed upon the SEMA crowds this custom 1969 Ford Torino Talladega GT Special, and it's a beauty. The car calls to mind the classic Holman Moody stock cars that circled NASCAR tracks in the late 1960's, driven by the likes of Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney and David Pearson, who won the Grand National title in both 1968 and '69 in a Ford Torino.
Even though it has plenty of stock-car influence, there's nothing retro about the car's design or powertrain, other than the fact that the engine is based on a Ford Boss 429 block. Fuel injection, aftermarket aluminum heads and a high-tech custom computer system combine to send 750 reliable ponies to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Brakes measure 14-inches all around, with six-piston Wilwood calipers up front and four-piston units out back.
There's custom bodywork abound, painted in a two-tone Tennessee Whiskey Gold and Daytona Sand finish. Check out all the amazing details in the image gallery below, and scroll down to read all about it in designer Troy Trepanier's own words.

BMW to follow Honda back into F1?

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

The economic downturn wrought devastating effects on motor racing. Formula One alone lost half its engine suppliers when Honda left at the end of the 2008 season, and both BMW and Toyota followed at the end of 2009. But things are looking up again. Cosworth may have dropped out this season, reducing the engine suppliers to three: Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes, the latter of which admits that it may have left had the engine formula not changed. But Mercedes has stayed and is dominating the championship. Honda is coming back next season. And word around the paddock is it may not be the only one.
According to Giancarlo Minardi - founder of the team now known as Scuderia Toro Rosso - BMW engineers have been conspicuously spotted lately at F1 test sessions and grands prix, lending to speculation that the new engine regulations may entice the Bavarian automaker back into the series. According to Minardi, BMW's marketing division is pushing for the automaker's return to F1, with the board slated to make a decision in May. BMW would be more likely to consider an engine-supply deal rather than taking a team over like it had with Sauber, but with which team or teams it might collaborate remains a big question mark at this point.
As if that's not enough, Ford is said to be considering taking over Cosworth's aborted V6 turbo engine program to take both outfits back into the sport as well. Cosworth supplied F1 engines under the Ford banner for years, but returned under its own name for four seasons from 2010 through 2013 before shuttering its program to develop an engine to meet the new regulations adopted this season.

2015 Ford F-150 brings big aluminum to the Rust Belt [w/video]

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

Just when you thought you'd figured the fullsize truck market out, Ford goes and throws us a massive curve ball with the 2015 F-150. The big headline news aren't tow or payload ratings, though we're sure those figures will be fully competitive if not class leading, they haven't yet been announced. Instead, the big headline news Ford is highlighting are the truck's new aluminum-intensive structure and 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
And with good reason - all that aluminum means that Ford was able to cut a massive 700 pounds from the truck's curb weight. That is going to cause all sorts of great things to happen to the 2015 F-150's driving dynamics, performance and fuel efficiency, not to mention its ability to haul heavy loads. For those customers worried about the strength of aluminum versus the more conventional steel, Ford is quick to point out that many military vehicles, such as the HMMWV and Bradley Fighting Vehicle, use a very similar sort of aluminum alloy in their construction.
It's also worth mentioning that the backbone, a fully boxed ladder frame, is hewn from high-strength steel. Ford says "2015 Ford F-150 is the strongest and most durable F-150 ever," for what it's worth, claiming that "torture tested" in labs and in the real world for more than 10 million miles. What's more, the truck, in disguised form, completed all 883 miles of the Baja 1000.
