EMAIL : DarlynBurton9k2e23@yahoo.com INTRODUCTION Up for sale is my 1996 Ford F-Super Duty (F450) 7.3L Diesel QUIGLEY4X4 with only 57K original miles. This one of a kind truck is in as would be expected of such a low mileage vehicle. As important asthe low mileage concerning the condition of this truck is the fact that thetruck has never plowed! Never! I bought this truck almost 2 years ago from thesecond owner who loved it and cared for it as well as the original owner did. Iown a very small specialty car dealer and originally purchased the truck to sellimmediately. However, this was before I drove the truck a few times andabsolutely fell in love with it. I’ve decided to now sell the truck, andreplace it with something much less special, as last year I could not bringmyself to drive it in the winter and subject it to the harsh conditions androads of the North East. To me the truck is far too nice to use for daily work. It’s exceedingly rare to find these 7.3L trucks with such low mileage thesedays. Most have been worked to 400K miles and retired or left outside to rot. What’s even more rare is to find an old body style (OBS) 7.3L with all of itsoriginal sheet metal and undercarriage in such superb condition. Take that intoaccount before considering what this particular 7.3L is; An F-Super Duty withthe famous QUIGLEY 4X4 Conversion that was installed when the truck was new. This truck is certainly one of a kind with its infamous 7.3L Diesel, 5 speedmanual transmission, QUIGLEY 4X4, and only 57K miles. I guarantee you will notfind another one like it for sale anywhere in the country and you may never seesuch a pristine example of such a rare and desirable truck ever again. These OBSFord 7.3s are quickly becoming collector’s items, and although I know in thefuture I will regret selling it, I hate to just see it sit idle in the garage. This truck de

Ford builds USAF Thunderbirds Edition Mustang for charity

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

Each year since 2008, Ford has created a one-off Mustang to celebrate military aviation, and the cars have been auctioned off at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Gathering of Eagles charity event to raise money to inspire the next generation of aviators. This year's charity car is the 2014 Ford Mustang GT US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition, which also helps celebrate 60 years of Thunderbirds air show excellence.
Of all the EAA charity cars, this Thunderbirds Edition is the most in depth. Painted to match the F-16 Tomcat fighter jets used by Thunderbirds, this Mustang also gets a widebody kit and 22-inch Forgiato wheels to go with the cockpit's Recaro bucket seats, rear-seat delete and modified navigation screen and gauge cluster. Even the Mustang's projector puddle lights have been changed to show an aircraft silhouette - rather than the Mustang's galloping horse logo - when the doors are open.
Themes for previous EAA charity cars include the Blue Angels, SR-71 Blackbird and the Red Tails as well as the F-22 Raptor-inspired AV8R and AV-X10 "Dearborn Doll" models. Scroll down for the press release for the 2014 Ford Mustang GT US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition, and be sure to check out our galleries for all six aviation-themed Mustangs.

This 2,000-hp Mustang is in serious need of wheelie bars

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

The Ford Mustang on the right is drag racing with the standard technique. The Mustang on the left, driven by David Measell, is using a new "rear bumper only" technique that evidently surprised everyone at the South Georgia Motorsports Park strip - including Measell.
Measell said his outfit just bought the car the week before the event, noting that it has more than 2,000 horsepower. Speaking of his "flying" run, Measell said, "We turned it up to dip on down," by which he meant they turned up the power in order to get his time down. Turns out all that power and all that traction sent the nose straight up into the air almost as soon as the race began.
He told an interviewer afterward that this was his first race in a "regular car" since he normally drives a pro-mod. "I like my wheelie bars," he concluded. You can see how he got there in the video below.

Ford reflects on radical Mustang concept that never reached showrooms

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

The Ford Mustang that we all know and love made major waves in the auto industry way back in 1964 by offering style and reasonable pricing with optional V8 power. Its long hood and short rear deck, combined with a low-slung and sporty cockpit, made a lasting impression in the minds of consumers and car designers alike, and its basic shape has so endured the test of time that it's still in use today.
This being the case, you may be interested to know that the first Mustang of 1964.5 wasn't actually the first Mustang at all, being preceded by a concept car that made its public debut in 1962. This concept was nothing like the car that would eventually make it into production, with a radical wedge shape and a small V4 engine sitting behind the car's two occupants, driving the rear wheels. In other words, the conceptual Mustang was pretty much the complete opposite of the production Mustang besides the name.
Ford has kindly decided go through its massive archive to bring the original Mustang concept back into the public eye. The company goes so far as to pose this question to fans of the pony car: "Should we borrow a few of these style elements for the next iteration of the Mustang?" Check out our image gallery above and then let 'em know what you think in the Comments below.
