1987 F-350 Dump

I bought this truck 2 years ago and it has served me very well. In that time I've only put on about
2,000 miles or so. Used for light landscaping, pulling a trailer and leaf cleanup. Selling it because
I don't have the need for it enough to justify keeping it, plus I'm converting my pickup to a dump
to satisfy that need. The truck runs great, has plenty of power and is inspected thru November.

It has a 460 gas engine with a carburetor; it starts up right away, isn't too bad on gas and doesn't
seem to burn any oil. It had a new clutch installed and 6 new tires just before I bought it.
The dump works great and doesn't leak a drop. I had new front brakes, calipers, rotors and
brake hoses installed last fall at inspection and have put on less than 800 miles since (see photos).
Also installed at the same time were parking brake cables and some front end bushings. The
receipt for all the work will be provided at time of delivery. The only thing the truck needs
addressed is an exhaust leak that's not even all that bad. The truck needs nothing for inspection,
has a solid frame, excellent tires, a clean interior and rides decent.

The title is right next to my computer. As far as payment,
I prefer a deposit thru paypal and cash at time of pickup.

Anyone interested in this truck is welcome to come check it out, drive it, crawl underneath it.
It's registered and insured and I'm using it right now for a couple of small jobs. I can be reached
at 610-513-4346 for faster response to questions, or send questions thru the messaging system
so they can be posted with the answers.

If you have a feedback score that's less than 10, call first before placing your bid.
If your feedback score is less than 10 and you place a bid without calling first,
your bid will be cancelled.

Thanks for looking. Thanks for bidding.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.

2015 Ford Focus gets more Aston-y [w/video]

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

With more and more members of the Ford brand adopting a new familial face, the Focus has been left looking like an odd man out. At the Geneva Auto Show, though, it properly rejoined the family, adopting the now familiar Aston Martin-ish grille that's proliferated throughout the range.
Overall, we're liking the refreshed Focus' look. Aside from the new grille, the headlights have been restyled and now look like elongated versions of the lamps on the Focus ST. Functionally, those headlamps are bi-xenon units, complete with an adaptive front lighting system. Out back, the rear retains the same overall look, which has been smoothed out for 2015.
In the cabin, the second-generation of Ford's much-maligned Sync system makes its debut. Sync 2, as it's called, is supposedly more intuitive than the first-gen system. Ford is promising "one-shot" navigation functions for the system. Saying "I'm hungry," should bring up a list of nearby restaurants. Of course, we'll be reserving final judgment until we can test the new system in person.

2015 Ford F-150 brings big aluminum to the Rust Belt [w/video]

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

Just when you thought you'd figured the fullsize truck market out, Ford goes and throws us a massive curve ball with the 2015 F-150. The big headline news aren't tow or payload ratings, though we're sure those figures will be fully competitive if not class leading, they haven't yet been announced. Instead, the big headline news Ford is highlighting are the truck's new aluminum-intensive structure and 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
And with good reason - all that aluminum means that Ford was able to cut a massive 700 pounds from the truck's curb weight. That is going to cause all sorts of great things to happen to the 2015 F-150's driving dynamics, performance and fuel efficiency, not to mention its ability to haul heavy loads. For those customers worried about the strength of aluminum versus the more conventional steel, Ford is quick to point out that many military vehicles, such as the HMMWV and Bradley Fighting Vehicle, use a very similar sort of aluminum alloy in their construction.
It's also worth mentioning that the backbone, a fully boxed ladder frame, is hewn from high-strength steel. Ford says "2015 Ford F-150 is the strongest and most durable F-150 ever," for what it's worth, claiming that "torture tested" in labs and in the real world for more than 10 million miles. What's more, the truck, in disguised form, completed all 883 miles of the Baja 1000.
