Hello guys. I purchased this vehicle from a police auction in Columbus Ohio. Every vehicle sold there is issued a SALVAGE TITLE, after passing a BMV inspection it receives a REBUILT SALVAGE TITLE. A quick check of the auto report will verify that this vehicle has never been "totaled", nor had flood damage, therefore the "rebuilt salvage" label is a technicality. You can also call the Franklin County Sheriff's Department, which is listed as the previous owner. The good: I had a locksmith make a key - it started instantly (after waiting for the glow plugs, of course) doesn't smoke, and it passed the "blow by" test. I am not a mechanic, but the engine is strong; it will get up and go. The bad: Besides needing a little TLC (crack in driver side mirror, dime sized hole and missing handle on tailgate, dent in rear quarter panel that looks like someone "butted" or kicked it) there is a noticeable hesitation when shifting from 1 to 2 gear. It happens when you press too hard on the accelerator pedal from a stopped position. However, If you gradually press it, or slightly take your foot off of the pedal when you notice the hesitation, it will shift fine.I was told it could be a fuel filter, fuel pump, stuck valve in transmission accumulator or a broken spring in the accumulator, which can be fixed for less than a few hundred buck by dropping the transmission pan. (Youtube accumulator for this model) As I said, I am not a mechanic, but there is a lot of life left in this truck, If you have mechanical knowledge and ability, here is an inexpensive truck for you. If you believe that you know what the issue is and want to fix it here, that is OK, if you live far away, you should tow it home. If not for the shifting issue, I wouldn't be afraid to drive this truck anywhere in the country. Reserve is low. Thanks for looking.
On Sep-18-13 at 09:10:05 PDT, seller added the following information:
Whatever the shifting issue is, it is not major, this best describes what the truck is experiencing. THE ENGINE IS STRONG! Read my description again.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UP-TXqC3f9g

Ford F-100 'Snakebit' shown off by Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed at SEMA
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Ford, along with KISS bassist Gene Simmons and his wife, Shannon Tweed, used SEMA as a backdrop to pull the covers off Snakebit, a 1956 Ford F-100 pickup truck that's been updated with Shelby Mustang-derived styling bits and a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine. All 550 horsepower are funneled through a six-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels.
Underneath the custom bodywork sits a chassis that's been stretched five inches and a bed widened and bedecked with billet machined pieces that are supposed to look like wood. The 20-inch rear and 18-inch front wheels ape those of past Shelby Mustang models. The interior is swathed in two-tone leather with a bench seat designed to look - try to act surprised - like a Shelby Mustang.
Like what you see? Bidding for the truck will take place in 2014 at an unspecified Barrett-Jackson event (we'd assume Scottsdale). Proceeds will be used to help build a children's hospital in Saskatoon, in the province of Saskatchewan, where Ms. Tweed grew up. See the high-res gallery above and the press release down below for more.
Ford wins second consecutive Engine of the Year with 1.0L EcoBoost [UPDATE]
Wed, 05 Jun 2013For the second year in a row, Ford has taken top honors in International Engine of the Year voting. As was the case last year, it is Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine that earns the automaker the accolade, achieving the highest-ever accumulated score in the 15 years that the award has been handed out.
A panel of 87 automotive journalists from 35 countries are responsible for choosing the world's best engines, and this is only the third time an automaker has managed back-to-back victories. Voters were impressed by the "Baby EcoBoost" engine's power output - 123 horsepower between 1,400 and 4,500 rpm, 148 pound-feet of torque from 1,400 to 4,000 rpm - and its compact size; Ford has demonstrated that the package is small enough to fit in the overhead bin of a passenger airplane.
Currently, the 1.0-liter EcoBoost is offered in the European Fiesta, B-MAX, Focus, C-MAX and Grand C-MAX, and Ford plans to put the engine in the Transit Connect, Transit Courier, Tourneo Connect, Tourneo Courier, Mondeo and EcoSport in short order. In North America, the Fiesta will be the first vehicle to offer the 1.0L EcoBoost later this year.
Ford investing $500M in engine plant for 2.7L EcoBoost production
Sun, 30 Mar 2014Ohio is a hot area for Ford at the moment with the announcement just a few weeks ago that production of the next-generation F-650/F-750 medium-duty trucks would move from Mexico to the Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, Ohio. Now, Ford is investing $500 million to hire 300 workers at its Lima Engine Plant in Lima, Ohio, to add production of the twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 for the 2015 F-150.
The latest investment will be used to add a new flexible engine assembly system and renovate 700,000 square feet of the plant for machining and assembly areas. The Lima factory already builds Ford's 3.5-liter and 3.7-liter Duratec V6 engines. The plant opened in 1957, and it's on track to build its 40 millionth engine later this year.
Ford claims that the 2.7-liter EcoBoost will offer V8 performance with better efficiency in the F-150. It comes standard with intelligent stop/start that doesn't activate when the truck is towing or in four-wheel drive, and it's made from a combination of compacted graphite iron and aluminum for low weight and high strength. The company says that V6 engines have already proven popular in the F-150 with 57 percent of trucks in 2014 being equipped with either the naturally aspirated 3.7-liter or turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost engines.
