Government owned and maintained 2001 Ford F-150 pickup with factory installed dedicated 3,600 psi CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) fuel system.

This pickup runs and drives like you would expect from a vehicle with only 57k miles.  Engine and transmission are very strong and there are no fluid leaks.  The interior is very clean and still has a new car smell.  Tires have greater than 50% tread life remaining and the spare is brand new. California HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) “Carpool” stickers are included.

Many F150’s produced in the early 2000’s suffer from a peeling paint syndrome, and this one is no exception.  As you will see in the pictures, there are three fairly sizable areas where the paint is missing (on the hood and both sides of the bed).  A local paint & body shop quoted me $740 to repaint the entire truck + $80 to repaint the steel wheels (which are also peeling), but I decided to sell the truck as-is in case the new owner wanted to go with a different color scheme.

I have described the condition of the pickup to the best of my ability, but it is a used truck and is therefore being sold as-is with no warranty.

$500 non-refundable PayPal deposit is due within 24-hours of auction close.  The balance can be paid in cash when you take delivery of the truck in Exeter, CA – within 7 days.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me through eBay if you have any questions or would like more specific photos.  If you provide a callback number, I would be happy to speak with you via telephone.  In-person previews or test drives are welcome.

Thanks for looking.

-Matt

New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.

Drive Ford's new Mustang in Need For Speed Rivals

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

If waiting for the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang to hit dealerships is just too tall of an order, you'll be happy to hear that there is now an alternative means of getting behind the wheel of America's favorite pony car. The Mustang is making its video game debut in Need For Speed Rivals.
"We worked closely with the development team at EA to provide them with engineering data for the new Mustang, several months before we showed it to the rest of the world," said Ford product licensing manager Mark Bentley. "Computer design models enabled the game developers to create an accurate representation of the new Mustang before it goes on sale."
Players will have access to five unique designs for the Mustang, allowing a degree of individuality beyond solid colors and decals. According to Digital Marketing Manager Andrea Zuehlk of Ford, those designs are drawn from the four most popular designs on the Mustang Customizer, an online, mobile and tablet app that allows the public to design their own custom Mustang. A fifth design, penned by drift racer Vaughn Gittin, Jr., is also available.

Roush getting back into sport compact business with Focus ST mods [w/video]

Wed, 29 May 2013

Roush Performance offers a whole raft of parts for folks looking to tune their Ford Mustang and F-150 models, and now Focus owners can start getting in on the hotted-up action, too. Owners of the 2012-13 Focus and 2013 Focus ST can now get a Roush cold-air intake system, and ST owners can also opt for a high-performance cat-back exhaust.
Although all of these components are now available for order, the parts will ship sometime in July; no word yet on pricing. Down the road, Roush will also offer styling upgrades for the Focus as well as performance tuning upgrades such as engine controller, suspension, wheels and tires. Scroll down for a quick video of what the Focus ST exhaust sounds like, as well as a Roush press release.
