Awesome 1958 Ford F100 Body on 2040-cars
Fort Collins, Colorado, United States
Rust free 1958 Ford F100 body. I see no rust, nor can I see that there has been bodywork done. The motor, drive train, front axle and rear differential have been removed, so its the body only for sale. There is a frame under it now but it is not a 58 frame. I was going to use this body on another 58 project but have since decided to sell that project. Please look for a future Ebay listing if interested in a running, driveable 58 F100, big back window truck.
CONDITION: As I stated, no rust, straight body (stored inside the past 20 years so I was told). Paint is not show quality but good driver quality. Right side glass is cracked as is the left vent. Windshield has a "bullseye" on right side, no linear cracking. The rest of the glass is good. The interior is complete, minus steering column and wheel and headliner. I don't think the seat is original, gas tank has been moved to under the bed, rear frame and an extra tank is included. Hood appears to be from a 59 but is in good condition. I have the grill and its condition is driver quality. Please ask questions and if you need more pictures, let me know with an email address to send them to. Sold as is where is. Any shipping is your responsibility. NO TITLE (Ebay won't let me list that), bill of sale only. As an FYI, the truck is no longer on the trailer and no longer in the snow as you see in the pictures but tucked away in my garage. |

MyFord Touch getting second update, extended warranty
Wed, 28 Nov 2012There is no doubt that Ford has had its hands full fielding complaints with its MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch systems these days, but looking to keep its customers happy, Ford is once again upgrading its infotainment systems and extending the warranties. Despite having just sent out updates for its systems back in March, Automotive News says that customers are still complaining about the speed and ease of use.
Vehicles with MyFord Touch will now get a five-year, unlimited-mile warranty, while the MyLincoln Touch will have a six-year, unlimited-mile warranty. Previously, the systems were covered under basic warranties (three-year, 36,000-mile for Ford and four-year, 60,000-miles for Lincoln).
What is being referred to as "version 3.5" for the MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch systems will be mailed out (or downloaded) next month for owners of cars without navigation and in January for cars with nav. Owners of hybrids, plug-ins and electric vehicles will get the update sometime in the first quarter of next year.
Hurricane Sandy cost automakers 15,000 vehicles, may have ruined up to 200k
Wed, 07 Nov 2012Hurricane Sandy was the largest Atlantic storm in US history, and its total economic impact is just now coming into view. According to Automotive News, Toyota, Chrysler, Nissan and Honda are set to scrap around 15,000 new vehicles ruined by the storm. Nissan alone accounts for about 40 percent of those, with 6,000 Nissan and Infiniti models deeded "un-saleable" due to damage. The company saw 56 dealerships shuttered due to the storm, but 51 of those have since reopened.
Toyota, meanwhile, had some 4,000 vehicles at its Newark port facility, and of those, 3,000 may be scrapped. An additional 825 were dealer inventory when they were ruined. Honda and Acura dealers are reportedly sending 3,440 vehicles to the salvage yard. By comparison, Chrysler weathered the storm fairly well with 825 units destroyed, while Hyundai suffered only 400 lost units and Kia scrapped around 200.
As you may recall, Fisker also suffered some losses, and Automotive News reports the manufacturer saw 320 Karma models damaged beyond repair. Ford and General Motors have yet to come up with estimates, and no automaker has commented on the full cost of replacing the vehicles.
