Please feel free to ask any questions. Vehicle is for sale locally, reserve right to end auction early. On Sep-08-14 at 18:43:44 PDT, seller added the following information: In attempt to answer the questions being asked by email I have added this additional description. - the mileage shown on odometer is believed to be correct. 8,417 miles. While I am not the original owner/ purchaser of the truck, the vehicle shows no indication of the odometer " turning over". Interior, exterior and bed floor wear/ condition support the odometer reading being honest. - the transmission is missing. It was removed at one point for repair and was not available when I acquired the truck. There is no transmission installed in the truck nor is there one included in the auction. - the body condition is overall solid condition. The paint is original, the panels are straight, and the trim is intact. The tailgate is the worst spot on the entire truck. It is rusted through and will need replaced. The right front inner fender has damage from the battery leaking but is repairable. The cab corners have been asked about several times. The right outer cab corner is in good condition, the right inner cab corner is a little soft. Both left inner and outer cab corners have holes in them. Not rotted away but do have some rust holes. The drivers door has a rust hole in it about the size of a nickel. It can be seen in the pictures. The doors open and shut solid with no drop when opened. The glass is all intact and in good condition. The interior is in great condition showing very light wear. The carpet, seat, and dash are in great shape. The fabric door panels are starting to fade. The floors are solid. This truck is in great shape for being 47 years old. - the frame is in good shape. It has some rust scale towards the rear but nothing structural. The frame is solid. - the 2003 crown vic front suspension is complete hub to hub and it is not for sale separately. It is included in the auction. This is a popular and economical independent front suspension swap. Once the original front suspension is removed it is a simple bolt in. It maintains the correct track width and lowers the front end approximately 5-6 inches while giving you 12 inch disk front brakes. - this truck is the perfect candidate for full restoration, hot rod, or rat rod project. |

Mulally to stay at Ford through end of 2014 at least
Fri, 06 Dec 2013Alan Mulally isn't going anywhere... at least not just yet. The CEO who helped turn around Ford Motor Company has been linked to the top job at tech behemoth Microsoft, leading to a flurry of rumors about potential successors. Those rumors, though, may have just been put to rest - at least for a little while.
Speaking to Edsel Ford II (great-grandson of company founder Henry Ford) at the unveiling of the new Mustang, Automotive News Europe confirmed that Mulally would stick around until the end of next year. "Alan is staying through the end of 2014 and that's all I know," said Ford. "Frankly, he has told us that his plan is to stay with Ford through the end of 2014."
Presuming that Edsel Ford is correct and that Microsoft isn't so hot on Mulally that it saves the position for him, it seems increasingly likely that the 68-year-old exec is more interested in continuing to work in Dearborn rather than in Redmond.
Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial
Wed, 28 May 2014How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
Take a look below for the video from Castrol.
Project Ugly Horse: Part V
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The Slippery Slope
I've had a healthy appreciation for cars that stop since one truly unfortunate incident with a runaway 1971 Lincoln Continental.
It's funny how quickly a party can turn from, "We're all having blast" to "What happened to the front of the house, and how many stitches do you think this is going to take?" Standing in a Mustang salvage shop in Kodak, Tennessee, I couldn't help but feel I had strayed into the latter territory with Ugly Horse. There was a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 plucked from a rear-ended Cobra sitting off to my left. The shelves were lined with second-hand Roush and SVT components galore, but I couldn't stop staring at a set of rotors with the approximate diameter of my chest.
