The speedometer has been dancing a little around 65 mph."

In the 2 years I have had the Van I have had 0 problems with the engine. I have replaced one ball joint and the fan belt tensioner. The front passenger seat is in a fixed position but can be moved back by loosening a bracket underneath. I haven't used Van in about a month but the last time I went to go somewhere I didn't let it warm up well and it died when I put it in reverse but started right back up. I don't know if the idle needs turned up or if it needs a tuneup. The speedometer does seem to jump around a little around 65 mph. The dimensions for the wheelchair lift opening is 53 inches tall, 26 inches wide and the platform is 39 inches deep for the chair to sit on. It has Q.straint tiedowns. I purchased the vehicle from Fred Bean Chevrolet in Doylestown Pennsylvania 215-805-2015.

It has a 4 inch center for drop for the wheelchair middle row. Tinted windows. The all-important rear air-conditioning and rear heat with separate front and back fan controls. Being paralyzed myself I'm going to leave the shipping up to you to either pick up or send someone to pick up from me. The only reason I am selling this Van is because I got tired of reclining to go into the van and found another with a higher door. Any questions please call 815-434-3622.

2014 Ford Transit Connect configurator fires up for the whole family

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The second-generation Ford Transit Connect is almost upon us, and to get work- and family-oriented customers ready for the new model, Ford has launched a configurator for both van and wagon versions. Both body styles will go on sale early next year with the base TC Van starting at $22,000, but customers wanting side windows and rear seats will have to pony up at least an extra $3,000 for the TC Wagon.
Ford is definitely looking to get back into the family van business with the 2014 TC Wagon offering three available trim levels, two engines and the choice between five- and seven-passenger seating (with two wheelbases). Like many recent Ford products, a fancy Titanium trim level is offered, and opting for it will cost you - this trim starts at $29,000, and we were able to spec it out with a panoramic roof, tow package and front and rear parking sensors for a little over $33,000.
Businesses looking for a small, fuel-efficient work vehicle now get more options on the TC Van like the choice of split, hinged rear doors or a liftgate (with or without glass), a long wheelbase ($1,000) and Ford's CrewChief vehicle tracking system ($925). Fully loaded, this van is still costs less than the fullsize E-Series. On both Van and Wagon, the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine is a $795 option, but it is only offered on short-wheelbase models and Ford has yet to release power or fuel economy specs yet. With the standard 2.5-liter engine, the TC will get up to 21 miles per gallon in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

Ford won't be releasing GT500 lap times for the 'Ring, or any other car

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

Trucks have towing capacity, EVs have driving range and performance cars have Nürburgring lap times. What do all three have in common? They should all be taken with a grain of salt. Currently, there is no sanctioned way to record lap times or verify production-spec cars - a lesson we recently learned with the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo - and until there is a way to do so (and there probably never will be), we'll never officially know the actual time it took for Ford to lap the 'Ring with its ultra-powerful Shelby GT500.
After posting a Ford-made video of a 2013 GT500 running around the 'Ring, the guys over at SVTPerformance.com (an enthusiasts forum not affiliated with Ford or SVT) wanted more answers. They got in touch with Ford's Global Performance Vehicle Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi, who said until there is a way to verify the times and inspect the cars, Ford will not get involved with lap-time wars. In the email, Hameedi pointed out that the 'Ring is a useful tool in that it allows a wide spectrum of track conditions, but until there is a governed way to record times, there is no way to accurately compare cars head-to-head.
And as much as some may not like it, Hameedi speaks the truth. It really isn't possible to compare times from one car to another, unless those cars were lapping the same track at the same time with the same driver. Not that any of this means there won't be continuous wars by fans and manufacturers alike... in other words, feel free to voice your opinions in the Comments below.

Which is more fuel efficient, driving with a pickup's tailgate up or down?

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Thanks to the smoke wand in the wind tunnel, you can actually see the difference in our video.
Should you drive with your pickup truck's tailgate up or down? It's an age-old controversy that's divided drivers for decades. Traditionalists will swear you should leave the tailgate down. Makes sense, right? It would seem to let the air flow more cleanly over the body and through the bed. But there's also a school of thought that argues trucks are designed to look and operate in a specific manner, and modern design techniques can help channel the airflow properly. So don't mess with all of that: Leave the tailgate up.
