Your looking at a well kept non abused viper with less then 15000 miles.  I am the 3rd owner of this beautiful car and I have all records including original purchase invoice. Runs excellent with no problems and no mechanical issues. 1999 was the last year for vipers to be built with forged internals and the beefy 708 camshaft making the engine bullet proof and easily can accommodate a 5lb boost turbo or supercharger with no modifications. The car has never been dyno'd but other cars with similar set ups make 430-440hp at the wheel.

Recent services completed (2013):
- Rear differential re-sealed
- Brake fluid changed
- Clutch fluid changed
- Flush coolant and changed
- Differential fluid changed
- Transmission fluid changed
- New thermostat (2014)

Other upgrades and notes:
- Tires (2012) - tread left is excellent
- Windows tinted black
- New Sylvania ZXE light bulbs (main and fog lights) - the brightest white halogen available
- Stoptech front big brake system, rears rotors hole-drilled
- Brake Proportioning Valve (adjustable by knob so front large brakes don't lock-up before rears due to size/pressure differences - currently adjusted correctly)
- Aftermarket radiator
- Hurst short shifter
- 4.11 gears (installed properly - speedometer reads properly)
- 3" high flow cats, straight pipes exhaust, muffler delete
- New K&N cold air intake (original box will come with car also if you want to change it later)
- New double platinum spark plugs
- New 10MM racing spark plug wires
- 2-10inch kenwood subwoofer, TypeR apline front speakers, Infinity rear speakers, 2 amps (infinity 4 channel running mains - 1200rms, 1000rms running subs) all purchased this year. Pioneer deck with usb hookup and remote.

As you can see from the photos the car is in excellent condition for its age and has all "goodie" upgrades any Viper owner needs to do. Only thing it needs is an A/C recharge.

Will Dodge limit 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat to 1,200 units?

Sun, 20 Jul 2014

With over 700 horsepower on tap and a price tag barely over $60k, Dodge appears on paper to have a winner on its hands with the new Challenger SRT Hellcat. But if you want to get your hands on one, you may have to act quicker than this most powerful of muscle cars covers the quarter-mile.
That's because, according to our compatriots over at Edmunds, Dodge may limit production - in the first year, at least - to just 1,200 units. That would amount to barely a quarter of the Challengers that Dodge moves each month, and would also mean only one Hellcat for every two Dodge dealers in the US - which could lead to some serious contention over which stores and which customers can get their hands on the ultimate Challenger.
Reached for comment, SRT spokesman Dan Reid told Autoblog that "there is no plan to limit production of the Challenger Hellcat," echoing the words of Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis who told Edmunds: "We don't know what the market demand is." Which doesn't mean that it won't restrict production, but doesn't mean that it will, either. It just hasn't decided yet - or announced any such decision, at any rate - over what will be the final allocation strategy for what could be a game-changing muscle car. That is, at least, until new versions of the Mustang and Camaro come along in pursuit of Dodge's bragging rights...

Chrysler expecting up to 200,000 9-speed transmissions for 3 models this year

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

Striving for improved fuel economy, we already knew that Chrysler will begin using a nine-speed automatic transmission in some of its new products this year, but what we haven't known is that volume at which this gearbox will be used. According to Bloomberg, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted as saying that the automaker expects to sell close to 200,000 units equipped with this new transmission in 2013. Those gear-rich trannies will be spread out across three models, consisting of the redesigned Chrysler 200, the still-unnamed Jeep Liberty replacement and the Dodge Dart.
This transmission should play a pivotal role in making Chrysler vehicles more competitive in their respective segments. Just for comparison, one of the Dart's key competitors, the Toyota Corolla, still uses a four-speed automatic, and a previous report indicates that the next-generation 200 could get up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, which is better than most non-hybrid midsize sedans on the market. Marchionne says that the new Jeep model is expected during the second quarter of this year, but there is no word as to when the new 200 or nine-speed Dart will debut, but clearly Dodge would like to have the transmission in its compact yesterday. As for that volume figure, it definitely doesn't seem out of reach since the Dart, Liberty and 200 combined for a total of more than 225,000 units in 2012.
How many more gears can we expect in future cars? Probably not many more, since the CEO of transmission-builder ZF, Stefan Sommer, previously stated that nine speeds was the "natural limit" for transmissions.

eBay Find of the Day: Viper Defender from '90s TV show

Fri, 24 May 2013

As car lovers, it's always hard to find a good television show with decent cars, but what the 1990s show Viper lacked in acting, scripting and plot, it more than made up for with cool cars. For starters, the lead car was a Dodge Viper RT/10, but, on screen, it was able to morph into its "Defender" mode making it an armored coupe with a full arsenal of weapons.
Fortunately, you don't have to be a fan of the bad show to love its lead car, and if you really want one, a Defender is up for auction right now on eBay. According to the listing, this car is the real deal - not a clone - and it comes with a V8 engine (not sure what happened to the V10?) and plenty of swag and memorbilia. No word on its actual asking price, but with a day left and 42 bids already, the reserve has not been met at $133,400. The listing does add that this same car was listed at Mecum back in 2010, but did not get sold, even with a bid of $270,000.
