What we have here is a 1971 Dodge Demon 2 door Hardtop. This car is equipped with a 318 V-8, 2 barrel carb, 3 speed manual trans with shifter on the floor. It has power steering and manual drum brakes. It is a factory EV2 car which is Hemi Orange. The fender tag Reads:

EV2 U J55 R11 V5x Y14
EV2 M1X9 TX9 329 104914
E44 D13 LL29 G1E
What i can decode of this is:
D13 - 3 speed manual trans W floorshift
E44- 318 2 Barrel
R11- Music master AM radio
J55- undercoat W HD pad
Y14- Soldcar 69-71
EV2- Hemi Orange
There are more codes but i don't know what they mean. If someone knows please e-mail me and let me know what they mean. This is a project car. It runs but smokes badly. The trans shifts smooth with the engine not running but i don't know about when its running. The clutch engages and disengages good. The best thing about this car is its complete. I believe the motor is the original motor. As far as rust it has some mainly in the lower quarters and trunk. The pictures tell the story on that. The rust is from mud, not salt. This has the usual dents and dings from being used. the front spoiler is toast. This is a car from Arizona and has a clear/open Arizona title. It rolls good. The brakes work if you pump the pedal. The master cylinder leaks. The cooling system seems to not leak. I filled it with water and ran the motor a little and no leaks. I have changed the oil in this, put a new ignition switch and starter in it. All the glass is good including the windshield. What you see is what you get. I have put a modest reserve on this to protect my investment. This would be a very easy restoration and a numbers matching car. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I will help if i can. I can also bring it to you for 1.50 a loaded mile if you prefer. Please e-mail with questions. If you have less than 10 feedback please e-mail me before bidding. Payment due within 3 days of auction close. NO PAYPAL!!! If its not paid for in 3 days i will relist it. This is for sale locally so i reserve the right to end the listing anytime the reserve is not met. If the reserve is met i will not end. Happy Bidding!!!!

Dodge celebrates centennial with Charger and Challenger 100th Anniversary Editions

Tue, 19 Nov 2013 09:44:00 EST

In 1914, the Dodge brothers went from being a parts supplier to a full-scale automaker, and to celebrate the centennial of this milestone, Dodge will offer special editions of the 2014 Charger and Challenger early next year. Both cars will be sold in limited numbers (although no specific number was given), and these cars will stand out thanks to unique touches like 20-inch wheels, 100th anniversary edition logos and the exclusive High Octane Red Pearl Coat paint job (shown above).
The 100th Anniversary Edition package, which runs $2,200 on the 2014 Charger and $2,500 on the 2014 Challenger, comes with red or black leather seats with a cloud print (for a denim-like look) and metal badges on the seatbacks that read "Dodge Est. 1914," while similar logos are also found on the wheel center caps and front fenders. The instrument gauges are unique to each car, with the Charger getting black gauges and the Challenger getting white gauges, and to enunciate the 100-year anniversary, both cars have red numerals on the speedometer for the 100-mile-per-hour mark.
Finishing off the 100th Anniversary Edition cars, which will be offered on V6 and R/T models, Dodge adds a flat-bottom steering wheel and embroidered floor mats as a part of the package. Scroll down for the full press release for these commemorative models.

Small number of 2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger models recalled

Sun, 24 Feb 2013 10:59:00 EST

A small number of units of the 2013 Chrysler 200 (inset) and 2013 Dodge Avenger are being recalled over a broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly. The potential 1,785 sedans were manufactured late last year, and if affected with a broken control valve could suffer from stalling or fuel leakage.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notes that the recall should begin next month, at which time owners can take their cars to dealers for repair free of charge. The full release with more information is just below.

Has Dodge stepped in it again with Scat Pack lawsuit?

Mon, 20 Oct 2014 09:28:00 EST

Lawsuits are an unfortunate part of doing business in just about any industry, so the latest complaint filed by a California-based aftermarket firm against Chrysler would seem to be nothing more than business as usual. But this isn't the first time the two companies have sparred over this particular issue.
According to a report from Automotive News, the dispute revolves around the Scat Pack name that Chrysler first offered on the Charger, Coronet, Dart and Super Bee starting in 1968. Scat Enterprises, a manufacturer of crankshafts and other components for Dodges and other vehicles, sued Chrysler for using its name. A few years later the Scat Pack disappeared from the Dodge catalog.
Fast forward to August 2013 when Chrysler applied to register the Scat Pack name anew. The US Patent and Trademark Office turned down Chrysler's application, but the automaker proceeded anyway, unveiling new Scat Packs for the Challenger, Charger and Dart at last year's SEMA show.
