Up for auction is a beautiful 1969 Dodge Charger. I have the build sheet, fender tag, and a clear title. This Charger is powered by a 440 cubic inch engine and a 727 automatic transmission with a floor/console shift. Motor and transmission have previously been rebuilt. The engine is strong and sounds great!  The transmission performs well without any issues. The odometer reads 82,469 miles. I have the numbers matching 383 engine and transmission that will go with the car when it sells if you want it. This is originally a California car and has stayed in Califorina and Arizona all of its life until now. The sheet metal is all original with only the trunk pan being replaced. New parts are listed below:

  • Front suspension - shocks, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm, sway bar bushings and pins
  • Gear box
  • Gas tank
  • Headliner
  • Carpet
  • Front and rear seat covers
  • Package tray
  • Trunk pan
  • Trunk mat
  • Door handles
  • Paint
  • Door weatherstrip
  • Trunk weatherstrip
  • Side marker light lenses
  • Dome light lens
  • Front bumper
  • Under hood insulation
  • Rear bumper has been rechromed
  • Re-cored radiator
  • Antifreeze
  • Oil and filter
  • 2 1/2 inch exhaust
  • Rear brake drums

As you can see, the vehicle has had a lot done to it.  The old paint was stripped down to bare metal and all of the bodywork was performed professionally.  The original metal had no rust and was in excellent shape.  I have pictures of the process.  An epoxy primer was used and then prepped for its basecoat/clearcoat finish.  The car was then put back to its B5 blue color with pearl white vinyl top.   The engine compartment was even stripped and refinshed.  The entire car looks great.  The car has been wetsanded, buffed, and polished to the finish you now see in the pictures.  It looks better in person than it does in the pictures, if that is even possible!  You will love the finish on this car.  I will add a link to the ad for you to click on for more pictures and videos. The pictures will be of the car before and after.

The interior is very nice with the new seat covers, headliner and carpet.  The door panels are in good condition and the dash pad is average.  All of the lights work as do the headlight louvers.  The center console is in very good shape and the bucket seats are operational and move back and forth.  The underside of the car is solid.  Look at the pictures and you will see solid frame rails, torsion bar boxes, and floor pans.  It is extremely difficult to find a car this old and in this good condition that still has the original sheet metal.  There is much more to say about the car and if you contact me either by phone (419) 296-9073 (Tim) or email and I will tell more about the car.

Terms are as follows: $2000.00 deposit within 72 hours of auction's end with the balance due in full within 7 days of the end of the auction.  Acceptable payment methods are cash, wire transfer, money orders, or certified funds.  Vehicle will not be released until all funds have cleared the bank.  No exceptions!  There is no warranty either expressed or implied and vehicle is being sold as is/where is with shipping being the responsibility of the winning bidder.  I reserve the right to end the auction early for vehicle is for sale locally.  The vehicle is in my company's name and depending on the state in which you are from, you may need to add your state's sales tax to the winning bid.  We will then switch the title over to your name to complete the sale.  Call or email with any questions.  I will not reveal the reserve and am not accepting any trades.  Please, serious inquiries only.  You may view the car at any time just call me to set it up.  Thanks for your interest in this car.

Thieves still love older Hondas and pickups most, says NICB [w/video]

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

No one wants to have their car stolen, but a new study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau has some bad news for older Honda owners and pickup drivers. Fortunately, it has better news for drivers overall. The group is reporting that according to preliminary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thefts were down 3.2 percent in 2013 (versus 2012) to fewer than 700,000 cars. That's the lowest figure since 1967. That's also less than half of the peak of over 1.66 million thefts in 1991. "The drop in thefts is good news for all of us," says NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle. "But it still amounts to a vehicle being stolen every 45 seconds and losses of over $4 billion a year."
Honda drivers might not find it such good news with older Accord and Civic models topping this year's theft study. Toyota and Dodge can't really celebrate, either, with two models each on the list, as well. Overall, this year's list was split evenly between foreign and domestic models, which were mostly pickups.
The 10 most likely vehicles to be stolen in 2013 were:

Redonkulous Dodge Charger is ridin' high

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

We're a bit hazy on the styling of this particular donk, which was recently spotted hashing about by HotCarsTV at the Southern Heritage Classic Car show in Memphis. Sporting a dope paint job and some wheels that make a blunt statement about what the driver enjoys, it's a unique take on the popular customizing trend.
The owner may be kiefing it real with the theme on this Dodge Charger, but when your car looks like this, it's easy to weed out from the crowd. Chronic police stops must also make it a pain to drive on a regular basis, though. Even with the big wheels, we bet the driver still finds time to light 'em up. Take a look down below for a brief video of this outrageous mean green machine on the road.

SRT back to Dodge, Dart SRT, new Challenger, Charger and Caravan's death outlined in 5-yr plan

Tue, 06 May 2014

The onslaught of news from Fiat Chrysler's layout of five-year plans continued with Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis this morning, including the unexpected announcement that SRT was coming back into the fold.
After just a few years existing as an independent entity within the Fiat Chrysler universe, an unceremonious press release hit in conjunction with today's lineup of announcements, saying "the SRT family of vehicles will be consolidated under the Dodge brand." Group CEO Sergio Marchionne thanked SRT headman Ralph Gilles for his dedication to the high-performance wing, calling out is efforts in expanding the vehicle lineup and including more customized models. He did not reference disappointing SRT Viper sales today, but we sense there's a bit of subtext.
With the SRT reunion at Dodge, it's appropriate that some of the most exciting product announcements for the next five years have to do with upcoming performance products. First out of the gate will be a refresh for that flagging Viper in 2015, which comes as little surprise.
