1965 Imperial Convertible, Low Reserve! on 2040-cars
Newton, Iowa, United States
|1965 Imperial Crown Convertible in excellent running and driving condition, rebuilt 440 engine and torqueflite transmission, nice paint and power top, factory air conditioning converted to R134A, power windows (including power vent windows), very comfortable power seats with new, exact reproduction leather upholstery, factory AM/FM signal-seeking radio with working power antenna, "Auto Pilot" cruise control (not working), remote mirror control, remote trunk release, both soft and "parade" top boots, rebuilt suspension. All lights, signal, gages, speedometer, odometer/trip odometer work properly. It's a real joy to drive, as it has plenty of power, shifts smoothly, steers easily and straight down the road, with no squeaks, rattles or groans. It's a rare classic car that you can still drive confidently and comfortably in freeway traffic. This is a two-owner car that's been in central Iowa its whole life. I'm listing this for my brother-in-law, who has owned the car since 2000. I was with him when we found the car and he purchased from the original owner, and I've been very familiar with the car over the years. He knows he invested way more money in the car than he will ever recover, but that's not why he bought, owned and enjoyed the Imperial. He's just at the point in his life where it's time to sell.
Here are some additional pictures from 2001
, prior to the current paint job and new leather upholstery.

With the Car and Driver Ten Best decided, the North American Car and Truck of the Year finalists announced and Cadillac, Ram and Subaru chalking up wins with Motor Trend, it's fair to say that the automotive awards season is in full swing. The next set of trophies to be handed out will be from Ward's Automotive, which has announced the winners of its 2014 10 Best Engines.

The latest contest was marked by the widespread emergence of diesel power and the continued success of turbocharged engines. There was even an electric motor on this year's list. In fact, only three of the ten winners were naturally aspirated and only two winners returned from last year.
"We weren't looking to throw the bums out, as they might say about an election. We were just really impressed with the flood of new powertrains," said Ward's Automotive Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter. Those new powertrains include the 83-kilowatt electric motor from the Fiat 500e, the 1.0-liter, EcoBoost three-cylinder from the Ford Fiesta and the 2.0-liter turbodiesel from the Chevrolet Cruze.
Once again, Chrysler had one of the most talked about Super Bowl commercials with its two-minute Whole Again Jeep spot, which was used to highlight its Operation SAFE Return program for US military personnel returning home from active duty. As part of this campaign, Jeep announced today that it will be donating up to $300,000 to the United Services Organizations (USO), and you can help.

Simply tweet using the #joinOSR hashtag on Twitter, visit the Yahoo! homepage or go to the Jeep Operation SAFE Return website, and Jeep will donate $1 to a fund that provides returning troops things like employment assistance and incentives to buy new vehicles. Jeep is also donating to this charity to the tune of $250 for each Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited (including the Freedom Edition model) and Jeep Patriot Freedom Edition model sold.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is hauling a multitude of modified models to the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas this November, and the company is releasing the first teasing sketches of many of them.
Unfortunately, FCA isn't giving many solid details on any of the concepts other than saying the vehicles from Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat all benefit from tuning from its Mopar performance brand. The teaser photos include a sinister-looking Chrysler 200S, Fiat 500 Abarth with two-tone paint and a scorpion on the hood, a red and black 500L, seemingly two different takes on the Jeep Renegade, a green Dodge Challenger wearing the T/A badge, an orange and black Dart, a very neon Charger, just the outline of a red and black Viper, a Ram ProMaster in Mopar livery and a Ram pickup called the Outdoorsman.
Take a look through the gallery to see what you think of the sketches for these concepts, and scroll down for the full announcement from FCA.
