Lower edge of Tailgate has been boxed and extended to fit flush with roll pan Custom curved, flush mount tag box has been installed into the roll pan with custom tag light that doubles as a third brake light. 2005 Lincoln Navigator H.I.D. Headlights have been installed and fenders have been extended/ modified to follow lights Full Hand built headlight to bumper fillers Full hand built grille shell, insert, and trim with floating 55 Chevrolet emblem 1998 and up S10 chrome bumper and black valance Hood has been modified with three 2 barrel air cleaners frenched in, with raised lip molded in around each assembly Doors have electronic solenoids and remote entry system, just didnt get hooked back up during recent rework of frame and cab floor. Driver door has mechanical means for entry The truck has been body dropped 2.5", the cab floor was not modified in any way to disturb stock seat height The Bed floor was raised in front of the new rear tubs, and the frame was modified in the rear to keep the rear of bed floor stock depth Truck has Full Custom Paint, through jambs and all Top color is R/M burnt orange with House of Kolor Orange Flake over top Bottom color is R/M custom mixed Dark Charcoal The two colors are split with positive and negative flames, pinstriped in dark purple, and buried under clear The hood and tailgate have custom hand pinstriped scroll work All Interior panels have been smoothed and painted. Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]
Mon, 18 Aug 2014For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
First 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray spotted crashed in the wild
Tue, 12 Feb 2013This restyled blue 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is wearing manufacturer plates, and it appears to be the same one seen around the internet in various pictures lately. This crash is likely not part of the Chevrolet testing regimen, however. Digital Corvettes forum member gpetry posted the shot with a note: "got this picture e-mailed from a friend in Arizona last week..." No circumstances are given, other than the incident occurred in the thick of a set of curvy roads, and the coupe ping-ponged off a guardrail and into the rock wall. Hopefully everyone involved in the incident walked away.
It may not be a pretty thing to see, a crashed sports car that's not even available for sale yet, but rest easy. Many pre-production cars are used for development and then unceremoniously crushed and scrapped, anyway. If that's the case here, that makes this wrecked 'Vette less of a tragedy and more of a case of exceptional efficiency.
2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra show all their sides in Detroit
Tue, 15 Jan 2013There could hardly be more riding on the next-generation General Motors full-size pickup trucks, so the automaker has wisely made sure to have a selection of different models on hand at the Detroit Auto Show to show off. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra were both officially introduced last month at a stand-alone reveal, and now they'll be on display for the public to see in various body configurations and trim levels.
The Silverado LTZ Crew Cab and Sierra SLE Extended Cab are aimed at providing more of a high-end pickup experience, while the Silverado LT Z71 Extended Cab and Sierra SLT Z71 Crew Cab should have off-road fans scouting out their favorite trails. The crew cab trucks won't go into production until sometime during the second quarter of this year - with other bodystyles coming later in the year - but we have plenty of live images from Detroit for you to enjoy.
