Up for auction is my 1986 Chevy Reg. Cab Dually. The truck runs and drives great!! The engine came form a 1990 4wd Surburban, as well as the front clip and guage cluster. The guage cluster reflects the actual mileage of around 62k on the engine. I've installed a new Edelbrock carb., aluminum intake, Howards towing and rv cam, Proform steel roller tip rocker arms with poly locks, water pump, chrome tall valve covers. The truck is a "camper special" with dual fuel tanks (only 1 works), and heavy duty sway bars. It has true dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The turbo 400 tranny, was freshened up, about 400 miles ago. The body is straight, with a ding here and there, but no rust. This is an air conditioned cab, but the a/c components were removed in the engine compartment, before I got the truck, and I don't have them. The interior is okay, but not great. It could stand to be freshened up. The truck was Va. inspected 2 months ago. Again, this truck runs and drives greatI am only selling because I found a 1 ton truck, with the extended cab option. Any questions: feel free to call me @(703)380-4863...Jimmy, or send me a message. Any potential bidder with 0-5 feedback, please contact me before bidding, as you bid will be voided!  Pleas don't waste my time with "lowball" offers, I'm not selling junk. Check out my feedback!!  Thanks for looking, and Happy Bidding!!

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra introduced

GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
