up for auction is this 1984 chevy one ton 4x4 cab and chassis dually which was ordered from the factory as a wreaker. I have all the orginal paper work where it was ordered and the company who added the wreaker bed at the time. I have a clear north Carolina title, it has a 454 engine and a 3speed manual transmission with low gear (granny). it has the PTO unit on back of trans, locking front hubs, front and rear wheel simulators and brake lock. the cab is in excellent shape with no rust holes in floor pans or rockers there is a small amount of surface rust near the windshield and paint is chipping on the windshield wiper cowl panel. the gear ratio is 410 front and rear. the engine has the orginal block which has the stamped vin # but the heads are (pass) and date code is 11-74. engine runs excellent with no smoking and has a new holley carburetor on it. truck runs and drives but needs the left front tire changed as I have one to be put on.the PTO tank has been removed as well as the drivers side gas tank. a/c compressor was left off when headers were added. the dash has some splits in it as well as the bench seat is warn. the power window motor both right and left work very good. the truck is in Lincolnton, nc . winning bidder will be responsible for shipping. a deposit of 500.00 will be required within 24 hr of bid ending and transaction must be completed with in 3 days. Joe Flacco wins C7 Corvette along with MVP honors
Mon, 04 Feb 2013As part of a longstanding tradition, the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII, Joe Flacco, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, was given a new car directly after the game and trophy celebrations. For 2013, that car is a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and it was presented to Flacco by Rick Flick of Banner Chevrolet, a dealership in New Orleans that was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 before returning to prominence as the only Chevy dealer in Orleans Parish.
Last year, Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning took home a 2012 Corvette GS Centennial Edition. Manning also won in 2008, when he selected a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid as his reward. In 2011, quarterback Aaron Rodgers accepted the keys to a Camaro convertible.
Though we're most definitely an auto-obsessed group, we did watch the Big Game along with nearly everyone else in America. And we've gotta say, as if winning the Super Bowl and receiving the Tiffany-designed Pete Rozelle Trophy wasn't enough for the multi-millionaire MVP athletes, a brand-new C7 seems like an awfully generous prize. GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
