Original owner selling his 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS - 15,500 original true miles on this car!!
When I went to the SEMA show in 1993 - I was floored by a concept vehicle in the Chevrolet booth! I saw this Dark Cherry concept, and ran to it... and there I sat, dumbstruck, for an hour staring at every inch of the car. I spoke John Moss, the person at Chevrolet who spearheaded the project, and asked if this car was coming to market... and he told me that it was just a concept, and there were no plans to bring the car to market. I even gave serious thought to buying a Police Caprice and converting it.
Fast forward a few months, and to my astonishment, Chevrolet is going to sell the Impala SS - the response to the concept had been overwhelming! I immediately placed my order for my very own Impala SS. Alas, it was not available in the Dark Cherry I had seen at SEMA... I waited until that color became available to finalize the order - a 1995 model. A short run of black cars was produced in 1994.
A few minor details had changed by the time the car came out, but what I got was nearly identical to what I saw that November morning in Las Vegas. I actually contacted John Moss about one noticable difference, the factory cars came with a chrome Chevy emblem, and the concept had a red one... he actually scrounged up another red badge and sent it to me!!
The car was taken to car shows for a while, and used for weekend trips...but mostly it lived in my garage.
It has never been smoked in, and is in excellent condition - only has 15,500 true and original miles on it.

Full Impala SS pkg - Leather bucket seats, center console and all available options with the exception of a CD player - who knew the casstette was dead?
This is a real car, not a clone - I have the Sticker price to prove it!!
When they became available again recently, I put on a new set of BF Goodrich OEM type tires
The water pump has been replaced and the fuel pump too - thats what happens when cars sit for a stretch
Bummer is that the dash developed a couple cracks in the plastic, but I'm sure that it can be replaced easily enough
There is some blushing of the paint on the front and rear bumpers cvers and the rear spoiler.
Clear title, but the car has been stored for a few years, so you will have to handle reg and transfer.
I just drastically lowered the reserve and added a BUY IT NOW price - take a look - and get it before it gets sold out from under you!!!
Call me at (818) 231-3595 with questions.
Car is located in Metro Los Angeles.

Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica
Fri, 03 Aug 2012If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.
Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
