Up for sale is a 1966 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible. This car has been sitting in my fathers shop (barn) covered for the better part of 15 years that he has owned it. The car has a few rust spots that will need some attention in the fenders. I have enclosed pics of the ones that are obvious. Trunk has a small hole about the size of a nickel rusted through and some rust under the trunk liner. Seats have a few areas where the vinyl has split, along with some splits in the dashpad. SS hubcaps, tires are at least 15 years old, top is in good shape but starting to show a little age. We ran the top down today for a picture and cannot get the motor to lift it back up. Im not going to fix it but we will get the top back up. Missing rubber between windows, rubber seals cracking, just the normal things that go bad on a almost 50 year old car. Automatic trans. not sure what it is, looks to be the original motor, small block chevy, unsure of what that might be. Probably 283 I'm guessing. Glass is all good, windows crank up and down. I will get some pics of the motor on here tomorrow. Car does run, however I think there is a vacuum leak at the carb, we put new plugs, plug wires, cap, points, and changed the oil. Carb seems to be leaking out the front side. Im sure it needs a rebuild. No smoke from the motor though. Dual exhaust is pretty much rusted out. Paint is ok, looks to have previous paintwork on the drivers side, hard to tell, but is possible. This car will need some work when you receive it remember that when you bid on it. I don't know where the manual is or the protecto plate is for it if it even had one. Chrome is decent, starting to pit and yellow here and there. If you need some more info you can call me on the weekend or after 6 PST evenings at 360 798 3499. Car is located in Vancouver, WA. I would like to see this car go to a good home for someone to fix it and drive it.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is a Swiss hit
Mon, 04 Mar 2013We've just received an early peek at the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible here at the Geneva Motor Show. General Motors was kind enough to let us attend the final dress-rehearsal for its press conference scheduled for tomorrow's opening media day, and we've come away with a good look at the droptop C7 in person.
In the metal, the new Corvette Convertible seems somehow less avant-garde than the Coupe, even in Z51 Performance Package guise. That's not necessarily a bad thing - more of an observation. That initial impression may be because the C7's new greenhouse is one of its most prominent departures from Corvettes past. While we didn't get to see the top erected, there's no rear side window in the stock images that Chevy has already released, suggesting the C7 convertible's profile will look a lot like its C6 predecessor. And with the new power tonneau cover in place, there are also no rear ducts that come as part of the Z51 package (they've been moved under the car).
As with its predecessor, the tonneau is a handsome double-bubble piece, and the body-color "waterfall" element into the cabin between the seats has made it to the new model as well. Thus, the overall look with the top down should be a bit more familiar to prior-gen C6 owners - if you're one of those put off by the C7's new shape, you'll probably appreciate the convertible bodystyle more than the coupe.
PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]
Wed, 19 Jun 2013PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*
Fri, 26 Apr 2013After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
