Just consigned from the ORIGINAL owner is this super-nice 2007 Chevy Equinox LT with 72k miles. This vehicle has been exceptionally well-cared-for, driven gently, serviced every 3,000 miles and garage-kept. It looks and drives great and is nicely-optioned with leather seats and power accessories. It has never been in an accident and never smoked in. This is a “snowbird” vehicle. It was driven to Florida and kept there during the winter and brought back to Cleveland during the summer. Most of the miles are freeway miles. The older gentleman who owned it no longer drives and that is why it is being sold. It was fully-detailed one month ago. Everything works. FLY IN – DRIVE IT HOME. There is a low reserve to protect some of its value. If the car does not meet the reserve, we will work with the high bidder to get it sold.

The Body is in nice straight condition. The factory paint still looks shiny new. No major dents or damage.

The Interior is grey leather and is in super-nice condition with no wear. All the controls and amenities work. No cracks in the steering wheel. It has never been smoked in either. Door panels and dash pad are in excellent shape. It was detailed a month ago and is clean as new.

The Drivetrain is a 3.4 liter V6 engine which runs good - no problems, no check-engine lights. It was given a tune-up two years ago. The transmission operates and shifts as it should. Tires were just replaced two years ago and are in nice condition, lots of tread. The stabilizers were replaced a year ago.

The Undercarriage is in very nice super clean condition too. Floor pans and frame are in great condition, no rot here. No rust or repairs on the frame.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
