1968 Chevrolet Chevelle, True SS396, produced late in production cycle, full body off restoration, stripped to bare metal and rust proofed. Color is Grotto Blue. Car was sold and spent it's life in Evansville, IN. Brought to Indianapolis area three years ago and started restoration. Fenders had some rust and were replaced along with one door. Frame, floors, and trunk were in excellent condition. Engine, transmission, and other running gear were rebuilt or replaced.. Originally equipped with power drum brakes converted to front discs. 396 325 HP, TurboHydro 400, 3.08 non Posi 12 bolt rear with new axles. Heavier sway bar in front and added rear sway bar. Rare factory A/C rebuilt with new condenser, evaporator, rebuilt POA valve, original R12 Freon. Rear window package tray has original 2-speed defroster and hidden stereo speakers. New exterior trim, front and rear glass, and bumpers. Will include original Air cleaner and bumper guards that need rechrome. Interior has new carpet, headliner, door panels, dash pad, radio, and extensive sound proofing with FatMat Heavy. New Cragar mags with original older centers. Less than 500 miles since restoration. Chevy Corvette Stingray "colorizer" lets you chase the rainbow
Thu, 14 Feb 2013After you've convinced your better half to let you buy a new Corvette, then comes the hard part... actually figuring out which 'Vette you want. While Chevrolet has yet to release the official configurator for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it did give us something else to kill some time playing around with.
The C7 Corvette "colorizer" recently went online, and it lets you look at the car in all of its available colors and wheel options from four different angles so that when this car does go on sale, you know exactly which one you want. It includes the Corvette's full pallet of colors including Torch Red, Laguna Blue and the hue you see above, Velocity Yellow. Toss in the black wheels, and we're sold. Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.

Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?
