1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu - 396 Big Block Engine And 4-speed Manual Trans on 2040-cars

Year:1964 Mileage:999
Location:

Sandy, Utah, United States

1964 Chevelle Malibu 2 door hard top coupe. 396 big block and 4 speed transmission (not original to the car). The engine and transmission are solid and run great. Engine fires up first try every time and there are no fluid leaks. It has headers, duel exhaust, 4bbl carburetor, and HEI ignition. The transmission and clutch shift great. Text or email me and I can send you a video of the engine running and the car driving. The body is very strait and solid. There is a little surface rust in a few places but there are no rust holes in the body. As with any 50 year old car, there is some rust in the trunk and floor pan but nothing a couple of patch panels wouldn’t fix. All the glass and trim is on the car and in good shape. I don’t think there is anything missing other than some lettering. As you can see, someone started to do some sanding and priming but didn’t get very far. The rust you see on the fire wall in the engine compartment is minor surface rust. It looks worse in the pictures than it really is. The trim piece in the trunk is the driver’s side drip rail trim and is an extra. The original color was a light blue, which you can see in the pictures on the floor next to the driver seat and on the bottom side of the trunk lid.

This is the first model year of the Chevelle and the original Chevy muscle car. Cars like this are far and few between these days, and the value continues to climb. This is a solid car that will make a great foundation for a restoration project, or with a little work, make a great driver.

GM won't sell 2014 Chevrolet SS in Canada

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

Allow us to be the first to extend our condolences to our friends to the north. General Motors has announced the 2014 Chevrolet SS will not be available in Canada. The Globe and Mail reports the automaker has confirmed the high-performance sedan won't hit Canadian dealers, though GM hasn't offered up any reasoning as to why that is.
Buyers here in the US of A, meanwhile, can look forward to getting their hands on the 415-horspower, rear-wheel drive SS by late summer. Something tells us it won't be long after that before Canadian officials start seeing individually imported 6.2-liter V8 four-doors in their neighborhoods. Fortunately, Canadian buyers will still be able to take home the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The C7 bowed at the Canadian International Auto Show last week, reportedly drawing sizable crowds and interest.

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."

GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.
