2000 Camaro Z-28 LS1 Automatic, Black with Black leather. Car has been meticulously cared for with all routine maintainence. Synthetic Oil changed every 3000 miles. Car has been tastefully modified for performance with daily driving in mind. New A/C compressor, K&N Cold Air Intake added, Stainless QTP headers and y-pipe added with Stock muffler retained. This keeps sound driving down the road to a minimum yet has a great sound under throttle. At the time the headers where added Energy Suspension Poly motor and transmission mounts added as well as new O2 sensors. I changed the water pump as well because it was at 60k miles. Finally I changed the alternator and added MSD plug wires and NGK plugs. This car is my daily driver so the actual mileage will change accordingly. Computer was professionally tuned for low RPM mileage and High RPM performance. Car has Corvette aftermarket wheels that have no curbing and shine like new and Nexen 275/40/17 tires with plenty of miles left on them. If you have any questions or want to see pictures of something specific just contact me. Also if you would like to come look at it in person feel free. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early in the event it sells locally. Please do not ask what the reserve is I will not answer as it is not fair to other bidders but I assure you the reserve is less than KBB for a car with the condition and mileage.
As for the vehicle history I am technically the third owner. The original owner had it for about the first 55k miles and traded it in for a truck. Guy that worked at the dealership saw how immaculate the condition was and purchased it as he needed a vehicle while the truck he ordered was being built. At that time he listed that car and sold it to me. I have had it for a year and unfortunately have to sell it as I need a pickup truck.

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check
Fri, 01 Mar 2013Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows
Wed, 13 Mar 2013While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.
