Selling my 1973 Camaro RS Z28. Car is completely restored, body and matching numbers drivetrain. Purchased the car in 2004 from a farm in Kansas. Restored over a period of 3 years and completed in 2009. Car has less than 1000 miles since restoration. Car is an origiinal RS Z28 with TH350 transmission. Car had minimal rust when I found it, the only body panel replaced was the trunk floor as it had some small holes scatter about from water sitting in the trunk. Floors, Quarter panels, Upper Firewall, Floors all etc, and all very rust free. Spared no expense in restoration and did utilize a substantial amount of NOS parts, including the high price things like window mouldings, center caps, lower body mouldings, etc....  Car is very original with the exception of the stereo system and I have the original.

There are a few minor things needed: No spare tire, neutral/park lockout doesn't return all the way(actually good as it acts like a kill switch), the clock in inoperable but I have a brand new OER unit that will go with the car and I think the AC needs a charge. I am sure you could nit pick a few other things.

Please do not bid if you cannot afford the car. Priced below market value and far below restoration cost.  Ask questions now not later. I will help with getting car shipped if necessary. Selling to reduce private collection.

First 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray spotted crashed in the wild

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

This restyled blue 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is wearing manufacturer plates, and it appears to be the same one seen around the internet in various pictures lately. This crash is likely not part of the Chevrolet testing regimen, however. Digital Corvettes forum member gpetry posted the shot with a note: "got this picture e-mailed from a friend in Arizona last week..." No circumstances are given, other than the incident occurred in the thick of a set of curvy roads, and the coupe ping-ponged off a guardrail and into the rock wall. Hopefully everyone involved in the incident walked away.
It may not be a pretty thing to see, a crashed sports car that's not even available for sale yet, but rest easy. Many pre-production cars are used for development and then unceremoniously crushed and scrapped, anyway. If that's the case here, that makes this wrecked 'Vette less of a tragedy and more of a case of exceptional efficiency.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.

Chevrolet Camaro in Korea - Click above for high-resolution image

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.
