1967 Camaro RS Z28. This is a real deal, documented in person by Jerry MacNeish 67 RS Z28 with factory applied,
never removed trim tag. Date correct but NOT matching numbers block. This is a worthwhile, highly desirable car.
Jerry appraised restored value to be as much as 180k. I am thinning down my collection by selling a few of my
project cars. I feel that I'm within reason to state that this car is 1 of 1 because it is the ONLY marina blue
with white deluxe interior 67 z found per Jerry. Usually 1 of 1 applies to ugly, unwanted color combinations.
Marina blue, white z stripes and white deluxe interior on a rs z will make for a very pretty car. The last I was
told, there have only been approximately 225 67 z28s found in total. This was a very early car in the registry,
number 98. Car is a rally sport, cowl plenum car with no gauges and no console. Very rare 3.31 posi, Jerry said
possibly ordered as a road race car. Obviously was some sort of race car at some point in its life. The car was
sold new at JR Rode Inc Newton, NJ per ncrs report. This dealership is still open. I purchased the car 15 minutes
away from where it was sold new. The gentleman I purchased it from had it about 25 years. He disassembled it and
began replacing sheet metal. He installed a new trunk, new inner and outer wheel houses, new frame rails, a 2 piece
floor (I was going to remove and replace with a 1 pc.), new rockers, new dash panel, new tail panel (incorrect non
rs), both full quarters (need leaded at tops), and a new panel at the bottom of the rear window(needs finished in).
New door shells and core support included. Some of this metal had flash rusted due to lack of primer. Nothing that
I think would need replacement again, but use your own judgement. I sandblasted and painted the sub frame and
loose fitted two new fenders on it. The previous owner also had the original 3.31 rear rebuild. This is all that
has been done. Keep in mind, this car needs and deserves a complete restoration. The car does roll and steer. The
fenders, hood, etc are just quick fitted on to allow for easier transport. This will need taken back apart, and
again, will need a total restoration.

Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.

Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
