Truck has been tuned perfectly and fires up first time everytime. Starts faster than my 2009 Honda. Good driving truck. No mechanical issues. Doesn't leak, doesn't smoke. Turn the key and drive away.

Battery is low, new in Feb, but since the truck doesnt see much use its low from sitting. Once its driven again it should be fine. The exhaust is currently open, sounds amazing. Custom made dual Exhaust exits in front of both rear wheels is included and can be installed easily if you like your neighbors and need to quiet it down. Still has a good tone to it muffled. Also includes full size chevy center console. The wire for the foglights that is hanging in the photos has been secured and is no longer hanging. Wire looms have also been added since the motor photo. new LMC pedal covers are included and may be installed prior to pickup if I have time. Stock steering wheel is also included as well as a bunch of misc parts, some brand new from lmc, leftover from the restoration.

Truck is a 9 out of 10. Not perfect but way above average. Very strong 350 and with the 700r4 it cruises easily on the highway. Bid accordingly.

Shipping is the buyers responsibility. I will help with the shipping arrangements if needed but local pickup from Holbrook NY 17741 is preferred. Inspection welcome by appointment only. Sold as is. Clean NY title. Currently registered and insured in NY. Odometer reads 73K, less than 1000 miles on it since built.

Rust Free, Very straight. This is the final time I will be listing this truck on ebay. The truck will be consigned to auction if not sold in the next week.

Photos don't do it justice. Email me with any questions.

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
