I apologize for the one-paragraph nature of this description. Ebay has screwed the seller again by taking away the ability to format. I have for sale a 1998 Chevy Silverado. I bought this truck earlier this year and just do not need it. It is in great shape mechanically and there are no issues with it. I have a company truck now that makes this vehicle unnecessary. The body is nearly perfect. The rockers and cab corners are solid and do not appear to ever have been repaired. The young man who had it before me sanded and sprayed the top of the rockers to eliminate the possibility for rust while he had it. That's why they look flatter than the rest. The only spot rust is appearing is under the weather-stripping at the bottom of the doors. There are small scratches on the driver door. They affected the color coat only. The interior is very nice. The driver's seat is the only place that shows wear. All the rest of the upholstery is in excellent condition. The steering wheel looks like it got sunbaked once upon a time. It's cosmetic only and you can see it in my pictures but it's important to me that I point it out. 2 things the truck needs: • I was going to have the front end aligned when I got the truck but it needs new tires so I'll let the new owner have it aligned after tires are mounted. • The headlamp switch should be replaced. This is a quick and easy fix but I don't keep the truck at my house and my job requires lots of travel so I'm not going to take the time to do it. Switches can be had for $40 easily. Other: • The "service engine" light stays on. This is because the catalytic converter has so many miles on it and it has no effect on the performance of the truck. I had my mechanic check it out and shut it off when I first got it but it came on again when I let it idle for about 20 minutes once. After reading over my description I think I've been pretty hard on this truck. Rest assured this is a very nice looking and driving vehicle from one of GM's best design years. The truck has been stored inside since the pictures were taken. Please contact me with any questions.

New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.

Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
