1999 Chevrolet Blazer Ls Sport Utility 2-door 4.3l on 2040-cars
Crystal Lake, Illinois, United States
This is what happens when Engineers and Pilots own a vehicle. It is maintained to a higher standard. The carpets are near perfect. The Upholstery near perfect without rip or tear. The exterior has only a few blemishes in all this time caused by the miscreants that never learned to park! This has always had a synthetic oil. Either Castrol or Mobil 1. It has been Mobile 1 consistently for the last 2 years. Upon oil change, the oil filter is always primed, never installed dry.
I bought it used from friends a couple of years ago as I knew it's history, to do scouting stuff with my son and to pull our jet ski. It has the GM camping package. My daughter just got her license and she doesn't wish to drive our Blazer to school. So this sale will fund the purchase of something she likes. Beyond that, my son is 6'-6" and is getting too tall to climb in the back seat these days. Although he has more leg room in this vehicle then most. If only I could find a four door this nice, we would keep it! This car has been more reliable than any foreign car we have owned. Plus, if one does break down with this in a no name throwback town, likely the part is in stock. Try that with a 5 series..I have, and will never buy a BMW again. The 4 wheel drive works as it should, everything does for that matter. It is doubtful there is a cleaner S-10 Blazer in the Midwest, it presents as a 2005 or newer. More pictures to follow, Ran out of daylight.

Priced at the high end of the range, It is simply that clean. Reliable as a hammer. I've been looking for a 4 door to replace it. Spent countless hours trying to find one at dealers or private parties with no luck. After my experience with this truck, 4 runners and Honda Pilot's are just not as sound mechanically, or as cheap to own. |

C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan
Mon, 11 Feb 2013Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."
New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette
Mon, 04 Feb 2013If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.
Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
