All Gucci emblems in-tact but hood ornament is missing. Original hubcaps with double G emblem included and in good condition. Carriage roof fabric is faded, but all other interior Gucci fabrics in very good condition. All 4 floor mats included, but have cracking and staining. Seat leather is dried and cracking and seams are splitting in some places, mainly driver's seat. Hood has some rust damage, but rust on the rest of the vehicle is limited and rust on undercarriage was sanded and sealed during engine and transmission refurbishing. Almost all mechanical parts have been replaced and fuel injection was replaced with Edelbrock carb and intake manifold. Extensive records of all parts replaced, with receipts, are included. Tires are new with 200-300 miles on them. For more details about what work has been done so far, please send a message. Milage assumed to be original, as when I had the car shipped from Florida it had 1982 registration sticker on windshield.

I purchased this vehicle from a seller in Florida several years ago. I began restoring it, but will not be able to complete the process. Almost everything except the rear differential has been replaced or refurbished, mechanically. Fuel tank was also cleaned and resealed, and the fuel injection system was removed and replaced with a carb setup. Custom true dual exhaust was also fitted onto the car, including headers. The vehicle sat outside for over 25 years in Florida, so it needs some TLC. Paint and body work are needed, and the rear bumper filler is missing. The leather interior and dash also need to be refurbished, but all of the special Gucci fabrics are in excellent shape. This is a unique car (one of 200) that would make a fun Sunday driver or show car with some work. Buyer will need to make shipping arrangements and no warranty is offered, other than what may be associated with parts I have records for.

Cadillac Elmiraj has production potential

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

There are many reasons to love the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept, but not the least of which is how production-ready this big coupe appears to be. Take out the overly fancy interior and a few conceptual elements of the exterior, and this looks like a coupe that could be in dealers now as the successor to the Eldorado.
On top of that, Automotive News is quoting Bob Ferguson, Cadillac senior vice president, as saying that a production version of this car is "very doable." AN adds that if the Monterey showstopper gets the green-light, this car would compete against the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and would based on Cadillac's upcoming rear-wheel-drive flagship sedan due out in 2015. The range-topping coupe would debut sometime after the sedan model. Cross your fingers.

Cadillac SRX production moving to TN, next-gen Equinox going to Mexico

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

It's a good week for the town of Spring Hill, TN, as General Motors has announced that its factory in the city of 31,000 will receive a $185 million contract to produce engines. On top of that, the next-generation Cadillac SRX crossover will be built at the factory (NA models are presently built in Ramos, Arizpe Mexico), which was once famous for being the home of GM's now-defunct Saturn brand.
The factory is one of GM's six facilities around the globe that will screw together the company's new line of three- and four-cylinder Ecotec engines. Spring Hill currently builds the 2.0-liter, turbocharged Ecotec, as well as the naturally aspirated 2.4 and 2.5-liter variants.
Spring Hill's vehicle assembly lines were idled in 2009, but were reactivated in 2011. The SRX is just one of the products meant to benefit from last year's $350-million investment, and should have a positive impact, creating or retaining around 1,800 positions at the factory.

Cadillac logo losing its wreath?

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

The easily recognizable Cadillac logo dates back to the company's founding in the early 1900s, but over the last 110 years, there has been an on-again, off-again love affair with the wreath surrounding the crest. Cadillac's current badge design has used the wreath since the 1980s, but Automotive News is reporting that GM's luxury division is planning to ditch the laurel wreath for a cleaner-looking logo.
The new logo could make its debut as early as next month on a new concept car that will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, although the report also says that it might be until 2015 before it makes its way to a production car. Even then, it doesn't like anything has been finalized yet, as the article also says that plans could still change.
As Cadillac looks to improve its global presence as a luxury automaker, the report says that a simpler logo could make it easier for designers to incorporate the badge onto the car - either in the grille or above the grille (possibly in a fashion similar to Mercedes-Benz). Head on over to the AN article, which shows the Cadillac logo dating back to its earliest design.
