1990 Cadillac Fleetwood on 2040-cars
Shakopee, Minnesota, United States
Engine blown, looks like the head gasket needs replacement. Won't start as water has gotten into the oil. Still turns over. Battery was replaced this year with a top of the line silver diehard from Sears. On first notice of an engine problem I saw the check engine light and pulled the car over looking under the hood the water levels were low. Replaced the radiator to try to fix the problem. Appears the heater core also needs to be replaced. Needs engine work. The body is in great condition with no rust. Leather seats have no rips. Car is sitting inside my garage staying rust free! Drove it for almost a year and loved every bit of the experience, has cigarette lighters in the front and back and feels like a miniature limousine. The back windshield is tinted. 10 disc cartridge CD player in trunk wired into radio up front with remote. Air conditioning still works and has an alarm system, if doors are opened once the power locks are set (like if you left the window down and opened through that opening) the horn honks. And the horn is a nice american style low loud horn and yells move out of the way. The brakes work but the anti-lock brake light comes on. Cruise control works. This ride has the 'continental kit' in the back (the spare tire looking part) which is very cool. Hope new life can be put back into this great ride!

GM recalling 2013 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac SRX over transmission software
Thu, 21 Mar 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued recalls for the 2013 Buick LaCrosse and 2013 Cadillac SRX due to a problem with the software for the transmission controller. On about 27,000 SRX and LaCrosse models, the transmission could accidentally be shifted to Sport mode, which would reduce the amount of engine braking drivers experience.
NHTSA says this could increase the risk of a crash, but, fortunately, the required fix is simply an update to the software.
While we're on the subject of General Motors vehicle recalls, a small number (48) of compressed natural gas versions of the 2011 Chevrolet Express are also being recalled for a potential risk of fire or explosion. Yikes. Both official recall notices are posted below.
2014 Cadillac CTS debuts new design, twin-turbo power, Vsport model [w/video]
Tue, 26 Mar 2013
If ever there were a Cadillac to truly rival the world's best, this could be it.
With every new model, Cadillac indeed gets closer and closer to actually performing at the top of its class, rivaling those crafty Germans at their own sport/luxury sedan game. The best example yet of Cadillac's efforts to challenge the world came last year, when we met the 2013 ATS - a vehicle that we praised for its on-road dynamics and interior refinement, and later went on to be named North American Car of the Year.
2014 Cadillac CTS configurator open for business
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Cadillac has just set the new configurator for the redesigned, 2014 CTS live. While we've already tested out the new CTS, this is our first chance to play with all the interior and exterior color options and to get a fair idea of the price. The new CTS covers a broad swath from the $46,025 base model, with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, to the $59,995 VSport, complete with its brawny, 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6.
It doesn't take much to send the CTS's price up from there, though. Opt for the VSport Premium trim, and the price immediately jumps $10,000. Opting for one of the premium paint colors is all that's needed to nudge the CTS past $70,000. For reference, a 556-horsepower CTS-V (previous-generation, naturally) starts at $64,515.
Click over and have a look at the configurator for yourself.
