Hello
I am selling my 1983 Cadillac El Dorado. The car is in beautiful condition with only 66,000 miles. This a rare in house " Cadillac Classic Edition", with Rolls Royce Grill and rear trunk straps. Cadillac dealers were doing this option a lot back in the day, as an extra add on. A lot of documentation goes along with the car to prove the mileage and service records. It has not been tagged for the road in years, however the previous owners Ground Keeper, drove it regularly around his estate.
I purchased the car from a collection that the gentleman had. He was a very successful real estate owner. He was friends on Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope. I had known the car for years as I grew up. It has always been kept in a heated garage with carpeted floors.
The car appears to still retain most of its original paint. It is in very nice condition with the only checking noticeable from the left side fender (repaired at some point). I just had all the bumper fillers replaced. The roadster top is in very nice shape and shows little wear. The car is not dinged up and very straight. It runs, drives and shifts beautifully.
The leather interior is almost as new, showing very minor wear on the floor mats only. The headliner was starting to sag, so I replaced it. The interior still has that new car leather smell. Not at all damp and /or musty inside due to the way its always been stored. The trunk area is big and clean enough to camp out in it.
The following pictures tell the story, although they don't do it justice.. I guess you would call it a survivor. If it was a muscle car it would definitely fit the criteria. A very nice driver would be my description. Way to nice to even touch. Email me if you have any questions. It can also be seen with appointment only. I can be reached at 302-229-0844
This a no reserve auction. No zero feedback bidders please. Good Luck.

2015 Cadillac Escalade gets 8-speed auto, range-topping Platinum Collection trim
Mon, 11 Aug 2014The redesigned 2015 Cadillac Escalade is still quite fresh on the market, but the luxury brand has a host of mid-model-year updates for its massive luxury SUV that should make it an even better driver. The range-topping Platinum Collection (pictured above) is also all set to ensconce drivers in leather when it hits the road in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The entire Escalade range now gets an eight-speed automatic to replace the previous six-speed, and four-wheel drive models also get a two-speed transfer case to go along with it. New standard features include a Surround View camera system, 4G LTE connectivity, and the electric tailgate also now closes hands-free, in addition to opening that way.
To make riding in the Escalade an even more luxurious experience, Cadillac is adding a Platinum trim. Exterior changes add even more shine to the behemoth SUV with a grille wearing the redesigned brand crest, additional chrome trim, 22-inch wheels and Platinum badges. However, the interior is where things really get plush. The first and second row of seats are wrapped in Nappa, semi-aniline leather in a choice of either beige or gray. The dashboard, upper door panels and center console also get hand-stitched and wrapped leather, plus a suede microfiber headliner. Both front seats are heated and cooled with 18-way power adjustments, and the driver even gets a massaging function. Rear passengers are hardly left out, either, with 7-inch LCD screens in the headrests and a 9-inch screen in the center.
Dodge Dart falls short of Consumer Reports Recommended, Caddy XTS and Lincoln MKS, too
Thu, 22 Nov 2012The Dodge Dart, Cadillac XTS and Lincoln MKS all failed to earn a "Recommended" rating from Consumer Reports. When it came to the compact Dart, the organization's testers thought the vehicle offered a quiet cabin, solid-feeling chassis and nimble suspension, but the new model ultimately fell short of the coveted rating due to powertrain issues. The institute's reviewers found the base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to be underpowered and noted "drivability issues" when the available turbocharged 1.4-liter four was paired with the optional dual-clutch transmission (some of our editors disliked it paired with the six-speed manual). CR also dinged the latter powerplant for sounding "raspy." For what it's worth, we think the forced-induction engine offers an excellent and playful exhaust note, but that's just us.
As for the XTS, CR lauded the car for its luxurious cabin, but the vehicle's experience was dulled by its finicky CUE infotainment interface. Overall, the big Cadillac scored much higher than its cross-town rival from Lincoln. While testers found the American luxury sedan to offer a quiet ride and quality fit and finish, they felt the MKS delivered a "cramped driving position, ungainly handling, uncomposed ride, and limited visibility." Ouch. At the end of the day, both cars fell short of rivals from Japan, Germany and Korea. Check out the full press release below with more details, along with CR's musings on the Chevrolet Spark and Lexus ES.
Cadillac highlights craftsmanship in latest Escalade teaser videos
Wed, 25 Sep 2013Cadillac, in case you haven't heard, is unveiling the new Escalade on October 7, completing the redesign of General Motors' large SUV range. The event is proceeding with the regular degree of "teasers" and "leaked images" that is typical of the automotive world, nowadays.
As the new Escalade's reveal date grows closer, Cadillac is trumping up interest for the new SUV, debuting five short teaser videos on its YouTube channel. While not showing much about the Escalade itself, the spots reveal plenty about its materials. Real wood and hand-stitched leather are highlighted, while we get another glimpse of the Escalade's vertically oriented headlights. Take a look below for all five spots.
