I also replaced the 4 window regulators, had some work done on a valve on the air conditioner, new rear brakes at 68,000,tires are 7/32. headliner is sagging, battery light is on,high battery voltage code, error code instead of an odometer reading, service trans light will come on occasionaly no rips or tears in the seats\\"

cars starts right up and drives, but since the battery light is on I do not drive it very far,     I have 4 vehicles and was only using this car about 3 times a week approx. 100 miles a month. rather than invest anymore money in the car I decided to sell it.                   it has a    transmission problem:       while on the highway the rpms will increase by about 400 and come back   trans does not appear to be slipping because you can step on the gas and away she goes, perhaps a control?lockout going in and out?   service trans light will come on                                around town cars is great.                     various codes will appear on the screen...service theft control,,,etc...they go away       when the battery light came on the odometer stopped working   an error code appears

mileage can be checked by the inspection records  just under 72,000 at last inspection     love the way the car rides    and the way it looks   just frustrated with the little problems that come up,,,,,also realized it is not a car I can work on,,too complicated............I bought it with a bad head gasket thinking I could repair it myself,,,but after doing some research decided against it,,,,,thought the new motor was the right idea    what a surprise when that one let go,,,,,still under warranty

I don't know the exact mileage on the car when that happened but would geuss it was around 63,000 mile      if you know something about these cars this is a good deal as the motor alone is very expensive

battery problem could be a relay or the alternator,,,,i am told they use a water cooled alternator,,,i don't even want to get involved      starting the auction at a reasonable price        car must go    you are welcome to come see it and drive

there is a slight bump on the rear bumper   it was there when I bought the car not a dent  cracked paint?     also the dash board cover is starting to pop up near the windshield  it was like that when we bought the car on either side    now it is also starting   to pop up in another spot   seems to be a common problem   paint is bubbled slightly on the hood above the grille   probably from the car overheating at one point     hasnt changed since we bought it

Cadillac logo losing its wreath?

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

The easily recognizable Cadillac logo dates back to the company's founding in the early 1900s, but over the last 110 years, there has been an on-again, off-again love affair with the wreath surrounding the crest. Cadillac's current badge design has used the wreath since the 1980s, but Automotive News is reporting that GM's luxury division is planning to ditch the laurel wreath for a cleaner-looking logo.
The new logo could make its debut as early as next month on a new concept car that will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, although the report also says that it might be until 2015 before it makes its way to a production car. Even then, it doesn't like anything has been finalized yet, as the article also says that plans could still change.
As Cadillac looks to improve its global presence as a luxury automaker, the report says that a simpler logo could make it easier for designers to incorporate the badge onto the car - either in the grille or above the grille (possibly in a fashion similar to Mercedes-Benz). Head on over to the AN article, which shows the Cadillac logo dating back to its earliest design.

2014 Cadillac ELR is making green sexy in Detroit

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

In terms of styling, inside and out, the ELR hits the ball out of the park.
Cadillac has pulled the wraps off of its newest family member, the long-rumored, Voltec-powered, eye-catching extended range hybrid coupe called the ELR. The car makes use of the same basic architecture as the Chevrolet Volt, but has been thoroughly layered on with design, technology and performance tuning - with the goal of being a properly situated product for the Cadillac brand.

What will the next Presidential limo look like?

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

With recent news that the Secret Service has begun soliciting proposals for a new armored limousine, we've been wondering what the next presidential limo might look like. The current machine, nicknamed "The Beast", has a design based on a car that's no longer sold: the Cadillac DTS. If General Motors gets the job again, which wouldn't be a surprise considering the government still owns a chunk of the company, the next limo's shape would likely resemble the new XTS (below, left). But Cadillac hasn't always been the go-to car company for presidential whips.
Lincoln has actually provided far more presidential limousines throughout history than Cadillac. In fact, the first car modified for Commander-in-Chief-carrying duty was a 1939 Lincoln K-Series called "Sunshine Special" used by Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the last Lincoln used by a president was a 1989 Town Car ordered for George H.W. Bush. If President Obama wanted a Lincoln today, it would likely be an amalgam of the MKS sedan and MKT crossover, as illustrated above.
And what about Chrysler? The only record we could find of a President favoring the Pentastar is Nixon, who reportedly ordered two limos from the company during his administration in the '70s, and then another one, known today as the "K-Car limo," in the '80s after he left office. Obama, however, has a personal - if modest - connection to Chryslers, having owned a 300 himself before he took office. A 300-based Beast (above, right) would certainly earn the U.S. some style points.
