1962 Cadillac Deville 4 Door Hard Top on 2040-cars
Kernersville, North Carolina, United States
Serious buyers only! This baby is ready for a make-over! Put a late model or brand new Cadillac engine, bag the suspension, update the paint, and this baby is ready to stop everyone in their tracks. Get the thumbs-up, waves, and smiles that I get when I drive it around town. This 1962 Cadillac has tail fins that impress everyone. Purchased from Ted Vernon at South Beach Classics, this Cadillac made its way from South Beach to Boston before landing in North Carolina. It can be seen in the following website with Dayton Wheels. http://www.tedvernon.com/Sold-Classic-Cars/1962-Sold-Classic-Cars-Deville-Hard-Top-KAR245.asp After a few of the spokes rusted through and the tires dry rotted, some replacement rims and tires were mounted and are currently on the Cadillac. The engine is a Chevrolet engine with transmission. The engine is beginning to burn oil so, I'm not sure of the longevity or stability of the engine. This baby is ready for a rebuild.
The title is clear and matches the VIN. Additional photos can be found at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mattslifeonline/ There is a video on Flickr showing it driving down the road. Good luck and happy bidding! |

Cadillac tipped to call flagship something other than LTS
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Cadillac wouldn't be Cadillac without large sedans in its lineup, and while the XTS has had to hold down that end of the fort all on its own, it won't have to for too long. That's because the luxury brand in the General Motors portfolio is preparing to roll out its new LTS, stylistically previewed by the Elmiraj concept pictured above. Only now, the latest thinking is that the upcoming flagship model may not be called LTS at all.
As Automotive News points out, Cadillac's naming scheme is all over the place at the moment. The ATS slotting below the CTS makes sense (alphabetically), but where do the ELR, SRX and especially the Escalade fit into that naming hierarchy? And how would LTS - as the project has been known until now - sit above the XTS?
Fortunately, Cadillac may be on the case, as two of the division's most recent senior appointments seem keen to rationalize the naming scheme. One is Uwe Ellinghaus, who joined Cadillac as chief marketing officer late last year. Speaking of the brand's nomenclature last spring, Ellinghaus was quoted as saying, "We are aware that this is currently a weakness of the Cadillac brand." And his new boss is bound to agree.
2013 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced [w/poll]
Wed, 12 Dec 20122012 is almost in the books and automakers are spending December gearing up for the 2013 auto show season, which tips off next month at the Detroit Auto Show. Traditionally, the latter opens up with the announcement of the North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards, and this year figures to be no different.
But up until this moment, we didn't know which six vehicles would be parked ahead of the stage as finalists, with executives and engineers waiting for the winners to be disclosed. Whittled down from October's "short list" of nominees (11 cars and 10 truck/utility vehicles), the finalists are as follows:

Cadillac shows dealers convertible rendering
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Cadillac is getting serious about revitalizing and expanding its lineup, and to that end, a new report claims that brand boss Johan de Nysschen has been showing plans for several new models to the marque's dealer body - among them, a new convertible.
The droptop which Cadillac reportedly showed its dealers in sketch form, would be based on the same platform as the ATS and CTS, those it's unclear to which (if either) of those model lines the new convertible would be added, or whether the design features a canvas or folding hardtop roof. One way or another, it would be the first time Cadillac would offer a convertible since the Corvette-based XLR roadster was discontinued more than five years ago.
Quoting an unnamed brand spokesperson, Cadillac would "like to introduce an open car to the portfolio at some point," however, "it's not likely to be one of the near-term portfolio additions."
