1955 Cadillac Deville on 2040-cars
Newport Beach, California, United States
1955 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Restructuring Collection – Very Reasonable Reserve Offered for sale is a 1955 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. Iconic Harley Earl design and arguably the high water mark of the 1950’s chrome and fins craze before things got silly. This car is from the Bond Collection and received a three year restoration completed five years ago. The restoration addressed paint, body and interior as well as all electrical and mechanical systems. The car has the original 331ci V8 drivetrain with 4-speed Hydro-Matic transmission. The car runs strong, shifts nice and makes no smoke. It has completed trips from Newport Beach to Lake Arrowhead which is a distance of 90 miles with an elevation change of nearly 6,000 feet. Between the white wall radials and the Hydro-Matic transmission, the car is a comfortable and enjoyable highway car. The car is showing 65,313 miles, it is not known if that is original. The car looks great and causes a stir wherever it goes. The chrome and stainless is very good and undamaged. The paint is amazing, no dings, dent or scratches (I found one chip but it’s an easy fix). All of the windows, lights, power seat and gauges work with the exception of the gas gauge and I didn’t get a chance to check the clock yet. People go crazy when they see this car. Being sold as is. The car is in Newport Beach, California and available for viewing. For questions and offers contact Tom (310)614-5747 |

2015 Cadillac Escalade is exactly what you expect [w/video]
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Leading up to the debut of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, we were told that the new luxo-SUV would be "much less ostentatious" and that we could expect greater differentiation from its Chevy Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon siblings. And while those things may be true to some extent, after digesting the full raft of Escalade information and photography, we can say that this new 2015 model is exactly what we were expecting all along.
No, there isn't a single part of the new Escalade package makes us go "wow" or "ooh," but it still looks like a solid, nicely updated offering that will surely attract the same sort of baller status when it hits the road. For starters, the new front end has been completely redesigned, where cleaner, tauter lines work with the full-LED headlamps and running lamps to create a face that, while familiar, falls right in line with the rest of Cadillac's lineup. Around the sides, the shape is exactly the same as the rest of the SUV's platform mates, with better-fitting body panels and a handsome, upright design. Of course, 20-inch wheels are standard, and hifalutin' 22-inch rollers are available (in chrome, we assume). Things get really interesting around back, where full-LED taillamps extend from the bumper all the way up to the top of the tailgate, and - like the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon - the rear window wiper has been integrated into the top of the hatch for a cleaner look. It all looks pretty modern and good, but doesn't really tone down the otherwise flashiness of the Escalade package.
Like its predecessor, the new Escalade will be available in standard- and extended-wheelbase formats (bring on the EXT!). Only one engine is available: GM's 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8, good for 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both two- and four-wheel drive configurations will be offered, and the new Escalade should be a bit better to drive than the previous model, with a new coil-over front suspension and five-link rear setup, a wider track, variable-assist electric power steering and Cadillac's Magnetic Ride Control system with Tour and Sport modes.
Cadillac HQ has a New York address
Sun, 16 Nov 2014The new home of Cadillac will be in the 330 Hudson building in New York City's Hudson Square, putting the luxury marque smack dab in the middle of three of the city's hippest areas, SoHo, Greenwich Village and Tribeca.
The announcement is yet another milestone in the company's controversial decision to relocate administrative and marketing operations away from Detroit and into the Big Apple.
"The addition of a headquarters office in New York is a key step in Cadillac's ongoing global expansion," Cadillac boss Johan de Nysschen said, according to The Detroit Free Press. "There is no better atmosphere in which to better immerse ourselves into luxury consumer and brand expertise."
2015 Cadillac Escalade
Fri, 29 Aug 2014I have never liked traveling to Monterey, CA. The picturesque coastal city is about 300 miles from my home in Los Angeles, which means cramped and uncomfortable regional aircraft are part of the equation when the turnaround is only one night. Over the years, I have cursed the LA Basin's bumper-to-bumper traffic en route to the airport, argued with TSA personnel over carry-on baggage and waited countless hours for the fog to lift just for the anguish of being packed into a small regional jet for the flight. Of course, the process repeats on the trip home with equal misery.
Yet this time I am not suffering.
Cadillac has dropped its all-new 2015 Escalade in my driveway. Instead of battling city congestion, attempting to reason with misinformed government agents, snacking on a too-small bag of pretzels and physically rubbing shoulders with a dubious stranger for 90-plus minutes within the confines of a bumpy aircraft, I have chosen to forgo air travel and drive myself door-to-door in a fullsize luxury sport utility vehicle.
