Low Mileage Allante With No Reserve on 2040-cars

Year:1988 Mileage:48000
Location:

Columbus, Ohio, United States

Columbus, Ohio, United States

For your consideration is a 1988 Cadillac Allante that I recently inherited from my father. He purchased the car about three years ago as a daily driver and has put approximately 9,000 miles on the car in that time - the car has a little more than 48,000 total miles. I took the car out for a spin a few times before the snow hit, just to see what kind of shape its in. It looks great and drives great and comes with both the soft and hard tops. I am simply not a Cadillac fan, so I am offering the car for sale with no reserve.

Here's what I have been able to determine...

  • While the car drives great and has very low miles, it needs a tune-up. Pulling the codes shows a throttle control adjustment need, borne out by the fact that the car does hesitate every once in a while while excelerating.
  • The car stops just fine, but without the assistance of antilock brakes, as these have been disabled. There are no yellow or red brake warning lights.
  • The car is outfitted with an aftermarket stereo remote by Pioneer, connected to a tuner and cd changer mounted in the trunk of the car. The radio antenna will need to be replaced.
  • The driver's seat back leans slightly to the right. All seat adjustments appear to work just fine on both the driver and passenger sides.
  • The led bulb for the tachometer does not always stay on.
  • The lower front bumper has been damaged.
This car would make for an easy, drivable restoration, although as you can see from the pictures, it can be driven simply as it is. The paint and interior is all original. Its that special Cadillac pearl white color and it shines and looks great. I did not take a picture of the hardtop, but it is in excellent condition, without flaw. I have tried to list everything that I could find wrong with the car - oh, the driver's seat belt receptacle has seen better days, but works just fine.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions. I will take PayPal for the entire purchase of the car, but there will be a surcharge to do so. I can also accept credit card via Square if that is easier. Of course, cash is king. I will accept a check, but it must clear first before I release the car.

I have a clear title in hand. Thanks.

2014 Cadillac CTS images leak from somewhere

Sun, 24 Mar 2013

The redesigned 2014 Cadillac CTS will be unveiled this Tuesday on the eve of the New York Auto Show, but as often happens, some images of the car have leaked onto the web a few days early. Previously, the only information we had on the 2014 CTS concerned the all-new twin-turbo V6 engine that will be found underhood, rated at 420 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
While none show the new car in its entirety, the images do show much of the front end, particularly the headlights that feature vertical bars of LEDs that start down low as foglights and continue up to the top of the front fenders. They're similar to the lighting design first shown on the XTS and ATS, except the lower portions are much taller.
There are also views of the rear end and one of the taillights, as well as an interior shot of the front passenger door. The latter image has us most intrigued, as it shows some very high end materials being used in the new CTS interior. The low-gloss wood trim, in particular, looks very premium.

Watch the 2014 Cadillac CTS get its groove on in the rain

Sun, 31 Mar 2013

In case you haven't got enough of the 2014 Cadillac CTS that just debuted at the New York Auto Show, Cadillac has let us have some rolling footage of the car around its test track along with a few words from VP of marketing Don Butler and executive director of design Mark Adams.
You won't learn much more about its 420-horsepower, twin-turbo V6 but you can hear how it growls in the rain, and you can get a better idea of how you'll look in the driver's seat giving it a workout. That's got to be worth something, right? You'll find both videos just below.

Watch Brad Pitt's Chinese Cadillac XTS commercial

Thu, 14 Mar 2013

Once upon a time, in a land not so far from this one, Brad Pitt was the very face anti-consumerism. You see, when he slipped into the role of the elitist-loathing, food-abusing, violence-embracing Tyler Durden from Fight Club, his visage was inextricably married to images of leveling credit card corporations with nothing more than a little human fat and some determination. Of course, that was before Pitt settled into old age with a passel of children at his feet. Now, it seems, he'll shill for something as long as it doesn't damage his reputation in America.
Need proof? Look no further than this Chinese ad for the Cadillac XTS. In it, Pitt contentedly wafts the big front-wheel drive barge around San Francisco against a mildly euphoric soundtrack. You can check out the scene for yourself below, just make sure you have your last meal squarely situated in your stomach before pressing play. We have to wonder if Pitt wakes up in the middle of the night with Chuck Palahniuk's oddly omniscient words echoing in his ears: "Then you're trapped in your lovely nest, and the things you used to own, now they own you."
