1968 Buick Gran Sport 400 Convertible with 455 C.I.D. Rebuilt Big Block added
Fast440 is pleased to offer this exceptional value 1968 Buick Skylark GS 400 Convertible with very strong mechanics featuring a Performance Built 455 C.I.D. Big Block Motor with less than 2000 miles on it. The Performance Camshaft, Solid Lifters and other Performance Upgrades make this Gran Sport pull hard when needed, yet very streetable at the same time. Let's not forget that a stock 455 V-8 was rated well over 400 Horsepower from the factory. Also equipped with a refreshed Turbo 350 Automatic Transmission with Shift Kit, and a 10 Bolt Posi-Traction Rear Differential with believed to be 3:73 Gears in it. Power Steering and Power Brakes as well, and the entire Front Suspension and Steering System has been rebuilt.
The body on this Skylark GS is exceptionally solid. Solid Floor Pans, Rocker Panels Trunk Pan and more. No notable rust issues observed other than some small bubbles above both Rear Wheels on the Quarter Panels. Easy fix when you are ready to repaint. Paint, Convertible Top, and Interior Upholstery are showing their age, but certainly acceptable in terms of Driver Quality. All electricals function as they should with the exception of the Power Top (replacement motor and fluid lines included in the sale).
Mechanics are done on this one, so drive and enjoy right now, fix it up while it is still on the road, or an excellent foundation for quality paint work and and Trim upgrades.

City, Slicker
We admit it. We have no earthly idea how this whole thing is going to shake out.
Typically, after driving a new car or truck, we come away prepared to hazard a guess as to whether said model has a good chance of being a sales success. We've amassed enough time watching the industry, scrutinizing the competitors, and so on, to make a reasonably educated bet. Yet here we are, days removed from driving the new 2013 Buick Encore, and we still have no bloody idea.

Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.

When you think of daring concept cars or emotional design-student projects, Buick probably isn't the first brand that comes to mind. It's not for lack of concepts; when General Motors ran down 11 concept-car highlights from Buick's 110-year history, three of them are from the past 15 years, with other experiments in that same timeframe like the Black Hawk, Centieme and Cielo left unmentioned.
But the company still thinks about them even if we don't. It ran a contest for students at Detroit's College for Creative Studies to create a Buick for the year 2030 that would incorporate future materials and transportation needs, and nanotechnology.
Best exterior design went to Sam Kenny for his Neo Classical Buick, Justin Salmon took honors for innovative material use, like having exposed algae on the bodyshell to generate energy, and Namsuk Lee nabbed best overall concept and best interior for his Buick Vision Sedan. You can read more about the design challenge and winners in the press release, and hear students talk about what went into the work in the video below.
