1970 BUICK SKYLARK

ENGINE: 350

PAINT: "ROOT BEER BROWN, CREAM RACING STRIPES, GOLD LEAF PINSTRIPES"

MILEAGE: 88533 ORIGINAL MILES

This is my baby that I'm sad to see go but I am moving to Georgia from Seattle and have to many toys to take them all. I am going to describe every flaw and detail I have to provide. So lets start with the body, has a slight scratch roughly 5 inchs long on front driver side (shown in picture) not very deep but it's there. Quarter size dent on rear passenger side, (shown in picture). Only other body blemish is what appears to be a key scratch on the rear driver side. Not deep and roughly 5 inchs in length. Both scratches are not deep and only need a minor touch up! Paint job was $3500, the photos speak for themselves but in person and with sunlight this paint job shines! Root Beer brown with Cream racing stripes and Gold Leaf pinstripe. Has original 350 and trans, so much torque it's hard to not spin the wheels, runs good! I drive 25 miles to work in this beauty twice a month. No cracks in any glass, no major rust issues. Have many chrome parts in trunk and will send more pictures upon request. This is a project that is 80% complete! The interior is in rough shape. Floor and headliner are down to metal, just need new carpet and headliner. Seats and bench have multiple tears in leather. Passenger seat is in good shape but I have seat covers on front and back. I will send as many photos as need of interior upon request. I am selling this vehicle locally as well so I reserve the right to stop the auction at anytime. Serious bidders only! Local pick up preferred but will ship, at buyers expense. Feel free to contact with any question.  Sold as is no warranty!

The importance of Angel Eyes, Ventiports and four round taillights

Sun, 01 Sep 2013

Just the other day, we told you about how Lincoln isn't really a luxury brand, according to Ford's head design man, J Mays. His argument was that Lincoln lacked the unique DNA to differentiate it from the rest of the market, although the arrival of the MKZ is beginning to change that. Now, we have this video from Autoline Detroit, where Jim Hall, an analyst for 2953 Analytics who was quoted in yesterday's Lincoln story, explains the influence of certain styling cues and how they impact the brands.
Using BMW (Angel Eyes) and Buick (Ventiports) as examples for small, simple touches that serve to distinguish the brand's vehicles on the road, Hall then points out how changing trademark styling features, as Chevrolet has done on the new Corvette Stingray, can hurt the vehicle's public perception. Take a look at the full video below for an interesting dive into what these styling features mean to their individual brands.

eBay Find of the Day: 1981 DeLorean with 570-hp twin-turbo Buick V6 [w/videos]

Mon, 23 Dec 2013

"Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?" So asked one Marty McFly of his mentor Dr. Emmett Brown, who replied: "The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?"
Doc Brown was right, of course: with an exotic mid-engine layout, gullwing doors and stainless steel body, the DeLorean DMC-12 sure looked the part. It just needed a little more juice. Well this one might not have 1.21 gigawatts of time-bending power - that'd be more than one and a half million horsepower - but it does have more than the 150 hp in the the standard 2.8-liter V6.
That's because this particular DeLorean has had its stock Peugeot Renault Volvo engine swapped out for a Buick-sourced, all-aluminum, 4.3-liter V6 from the Grand National. Dutteiller Performance didn't leave the engine in stock form, either: while they were swapping it out, they added a pair of turbochargers, new pistons, crank, cams and much, much more.

Buick shows off new Ultra Luxury Interior for LaCrosse

Sun, 27 Apr 2014

The options sheet of the 2014 Buick LaCrosse gets all kinds of fancy with the addition of the Ultra Luxury Interior. Pointing its Tri-Shield logo at the world of haute luxury, the cabin treatment combines sangria leather with ebony accents, shadow tamo ash wood trim and a microsuede headliner to "drive fashion forward."
You'll need to start with LaCrosse models with the 3.6-liter V6 and either the Leather, Premium or Premium II trims to go all Brioni and Buckingham on the cabin, and the privilege package will run you $2,495. We're told that you won't find such contrasting hues anywhere else in the class, though, and that kind of exclusivity might make any price a bargain.
You can find more information on the Ultra Luxury Interior in the press release below, along with some intensely fashion-foward gobbledygook.
