This auction is for a very nice 1972 Buick Riviera Boat Tail Coupe. This is an original paint car (Sierra Tan) with brown vinyl top. Rock solid body and undercarrige. The paint is in driver quality condition with just a few little brush touches on the nicks. Vinyl top is in excellent shape. Very nice and above average interior condition. There is one little seam starting to pull apart on the drivers lower seat cushion. Also a wear mark on the piping that borders that seat. Headliner including the rest of the interior is superior. Carpets are in good shape. Could use a good shampooing. The dash is perfect. All door panels and rear shelf material nice. The car retains its original 455 4 BBL V-8 with Automatic Transmission. She runs strong with plenty of power. Car cruises down the road like floating on a cloud and boy do the people stare at it giving the thumbs wherever you go. Has a nice sounding set of pipes. A beautiful luxury muscle car. The car has 101,000 original miles which is nothing for this type of vehicle. The car is loaded with options like PS, Power Front Disc Brakes, Tilt Wheel, Cruise Control, Air conditioning (blowing cool not cold) that may need a slight charge, factory AM/FM Stereo, 60/40 Dual Power Seats, Tinted Glass, Power Trunk, Power Door Locks, Belt Moldings, Buick Chrome Wheels and much more. We have a lot of documentation paperwork from the original owner who bought the car new. It was sold new at Royal Buick Cherry Hill New Jersey and was always garaged. We have the original title from day one. Also the factory window sticker, warrenty booklet, consumer information book, owners manual, emission pamplet, etc. We could go on and on about this car but the best thing to do is come check it out in person if you have the chance or give us a call and we will go over the details. The winning bidder will be very happy with this car. We require a $500 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auctions end.Balance to be paid within 3 days there after. We have had considerable interest in the vehicle on our lot . To be fair we reserve the right to end the auction early due to a local sale. If the car meets reserve we will let the auction run to the end and it will sell here on ebay.Feel free to call or email should you need more info or pics 207-324-5568 days or 207-432-2862 eves and sundays

GM recalling 2013 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac SRX over transmission software

Thu, 21 Mar 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued recalls for the 2013 Buick LaCrosse and 2013 Cadillac SRX due to a problem with the software for the transmission controller. On about 27,000 SRX and LaCrosse models, the transmission could accidentally be shifted to Sport mode, which would reduce the amount of engine braking drivers experience.
NHTSA says this could increase the risk of a crash, but, fortunately, the required fix is simply an update to the software.
While we're on the subject of General Motors vehicle recalls, a small number (48) of compressed natural gas versions of the 2011 Chevrolet Express are also being recalled for a potential risk of fire or explosion. Yikes. Both official recall notices are posted below.

Opel Cascada close to getting green light for US

Fri, 13 Sep 2013

For a company with a long tradition of grand touring convertibles, it's almost unseemly that General Motors doesn't offer a properly relaxed four-seat convertible in North America. There's the Chevrolet Camaro, of course, but it's not big on rear-seat space and it doesn't offer that sort of serene demeanor that many open-air buyers crave. We're thinking of something more refined and, dare we say, elegant. Something a bit closer to the Opel Cascada.
The General's front-wheel drive convertible went on sale in Europe this year, and while it seemed like a natural fit for its Buick brand in America, it's never been sold here. That may be about to change, however. Back in June, CEO Dan Akerson hinted he'd like to see the Cascada available in the US, and now there's word from Edmunds that importation "could happen soon." That's according to an unnamed insider at the company.

eBay Find of the Day: 1981 DeLorean with 570-hp twin-turbo Buick V6 [w/videos]

Mon, 23 Dec 2013

"Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?" So asked one Marty McFly of his mentor Dr. Emmett Brown, who replied: "The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?"
Doc Brown was right, of course: with an exotic mid-engine layout, gullwing doors and stainless steel body, the DeLorean DMC-12 sure looked the part. It just needed a little more juice. Well this one might not have 1.21 gigawatts of time-bending power - that'd be more than one and a half million horsepower - but it does have more than the 150 hp in the the standard 2.8-liter V6.
That's because this particular DeLorean has had its stock Peugeot Renault Volvo engine swapped out for a Buick-sourced, all-aluminum, 4.3-liter V6 from the Grand National. Dutteiller Performance didn't leave the engine in stock form, either: while they were swapping it out, they added a pair of turbochargers, new pistons, crank, cams and much, much more.
