There are cosmetic issues with this car, and needs a little servicing before you get it out on the road. (see picture), no oil change, no radiator flush, etc. The left front tire will deflate if not reflated every couple of days. Also, the drivers side automatic window is broken. This car would benefit greatly from regular maintenance and getting these things taken care of immediately. Also, the battery is very old and will need to be replaced. The car CAN start up on it's own, but it's a craps shoot with the current battery. You will most likely need a jump to get it out of here. This IS a good, smooth, and reliable car but you just need to take care of it like everything else. The title is in my name and is clean (see picture) I live in central Coeur D'Alene, ID, 83815 and that's also where the car is currently parked. I appreciate your interest. Thank you"

I am selling my car due to financial tribulations. There are cosmetic issues with this car, and needs a little servicing before you get it out on the road. (see picture), no oil change, no radiator flush, etc. There was an accident where the front fender got smashed up a bit and caused one of the headlights to fall out (see picture) I have the fender in the trunk for reattachment.  With a little fixing up, this car can look, feel, and run like a really nice car.  The left front tire will deflate if not reflated every couple of days.  Also, the drivers side automatic window is broken. This car would benefit greatly from regular maintenance and getting these things taken care of immediately. Also, the battery is very old and will need to be replaced. eBay Find Of The Day: 1946 Tucker Torpedo Prototype II hides a secret Riviera

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

The Tucker Torpedo is one of the great what-if stories of automotive history. Preston Tucker hoped to revolutionize the industry with a car unlike any other on the road at the time. However, due to a variety of problems, he only managed build 51 vehicles before closing shop. Over time, they have become highly sought-after; In 2012, one sold for $2.65 million at auction.
That brings us to this Tucker "replica" that you see above because it might be one of the ugliest monstrosities ever put together. However, we might extend some leniency to the creator, as the vehicle isn't actually trying to replicate the classic look of the 1948 Tucker Torpedo. Instead, it is attempting to reproduce an earlier prototype from 1946 that actually features that weird, trident nose. According to the seller, his uncle built the car as a labor of love and supposedly used actual plans from Tucker as inspiration.
Underneath all of the crazy changes is a 1971 Buick Riviera powered by a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) Buick V8. Some of the replica's odder modifications include the front fenders that turn with the wheels and the fin running down the back. All three headlights work, but the one in the middle is only for the high beams. Oddly, the small hinged sections on the roof are meant to open to avoid hitting your head when getting in or out. Maybe the seller's uncle was a very tall guy?

GM's Flagship Lambda Is (Still) A Smooth Operator
Consumers shopping for a domestic full-size crossover have heard all about GM's triplets. The Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave are a very appealing and talented group of siblings. Entering their fifth year of production, albeit middle-age in the automotive industry, each is attractive, well-rounded and very capable on the paved dance floor. While all share nearly identical base DNA and the same basic running gear, subtle physical differences and unique personalities emerge between the trio when one digs a bit deeper.
The most polished of the threesome, without question, is the Enclave from Buick. Fresh off a mid-cycle update (as are its siblings), the flagship of the platform boasts a facelift, innovative new features and an upgraded demeanor for the new model year.

Buick Encore takes a hit of Mokka to tackle Dakar

Wed, 03 Sep 2014

There are many vehicles we'd consider taking racing. Even on a cross-country rally as punishing as the Dakar. But a Buick Encore? That's not one that would enter our motorsports-based consciousness. Yet it's basically what General Motors is entering in the South American rally raid this year, and you're looking at it.
Unveiled at the Moscow Motor Show, this rally machine is based on (or at least billed as) an Opel Mokka - the name that GM's European brand applies to the vehicle Americans know as the Encore, Buick's subcompact crossover. Only it's obviously been extensively modified. It's got a ten-inch raised suspension, a 137-gallon fuel tank, carbon-fiber bodywork and... hold on, we're sure we're missing something here. Oh, right: a 6.2-liter V8 kicking out 340 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox.
In other words, this is not the same Encore (or Mokka) you can pick up at your local Buick, Opel or Vauxhall dealership. It's not even close. It's not even recognizable as such, really. It was unveiled alongside a more sedate Opel Mokka Moscow Edition and a slew of other local debuts for the Opel brand that you can read more about in the (translated and original) Russian press release below.
