1969 Buick Electra 2 Dr Coupe 44,000 Original Miles, Cold Air, Full Power on 2040-cars
Freeport, Illinois, United States
1969 Buick Electra 225 Custom 2 door coupe......44,000 original miles
I purchased the car from the previous owner who had the car for the last 22 years. He always kept it garaged and didn't drive it much as he had other cars. Everything works on the car. Cold air, power antenna, power locks, power seat. The interior is like new the seats show no wear, good headliner, no cracks in the dash, carpet is in good shape. All the gauges are clear. Radio sounds great. The car comes with the spare tire and jack and clean trunk. The engine shows some wear typical of a 44,000 mile car. It is a 430 4 barrel connected to an automatic transmission with power windows and power brakes. It starts, runs and drives excellent , it floats down the road. The chassis is rust free and much of the original undercoating is visible. The exterior is shiny and bright. However there are lots of nicks on both sides of the car. It looks like it must have been parked where people didn't care if they hit it. Please look at the pictures. Despite the nicks the car shows very well. The glass is all in excellent condition. The original window sticker and owners protecto plate comes with the car along with the owners manual. The chrome and stainless is all in excellent shape the rear bumper has some small dents. The vinyl top is in excellent condition with no bubbling or defects. The tires are about 50% the white walls look like new and its topped off with a great set of chrome full wheel hubcaps. The car is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car should sell locally. Please don't bid before contacting me if you have a negative or 0 ebay feedback. I invite you to come and inspect the car, or call me at 815-238-0796 if you have any questions about the car. I will do everything possible to help coordinate shipping but shipping is at your cost. Thanks for looking and good look bidding. I believe my reserve is very reasonable given the overall condition of the Electra. |

Movie Review: Black Air: The Buick Grand National Documentary
Thu, 06 Dec 2012As Buick currently claws and scratches its way back into relevance to compete against luxury brands like Lexus and Acura, it's hard to believe that not too long ago, the brand had a car that was mentioned in the same breath as Corvette, Lamborghini and Ferrari. That car? None other than the Buick Grand National. All black with a turbocharged V6 and some of the quickest acceleration of its time, the Grand National, in today's standards, is along the lines of a 2013 Shelby GT500 with both cars essentially being a working man's supercar.
The last Grand National rolled off the assembly line in Flint, MI on December 11, 1987, and to mark the silver anniversary of that somber occasion, Black Air is a documentary of the Grand National from the perspective of the enthusiast, the collector, the media and even from those at General Motors responsible for creating such a sinister legend. Like the car itself, Andrew Filippone Jr. shoots the documentary in a raw fashion, and it definitely helps to show why a low-volume muscle car from the 1980s is still the object of obsession for many automotive enthusiasts to this day.
Next Buick Regal to inherit styling cues from Opel Monza concept
Mon, 06 Oct 2014Ever look at a concept car from a foreign auto marque like Opel and wonder what relevance it will have to you as an American consumer? Well, we'll tell you: at least as far as the Opel Monza concept goes, it could mean a lot.
Speaking with Automotive News at the Paris Motor Show, Opel chief Karl-Thomas Neumann said, "You will see the Monza when you see the next Insignia." And the Insignia, we needn't point out, is essentially ported over to American showrooms as the Buick Regal.
The relationship between the Regal and Insignia only stands to grow closer as Opel design chief Mark Adams has also been charged with tightening the bonds between the two automakers positioned on opposite shores of the Atlantic. Adams also intends to imbue the next Insignia with more "premium brand values" in order to "add polish to the brand." Which in turn means that the Regal will be designed to look more upscale, too.
New Buick Verano testing in Germany
Thu, 29 May 2014A refresh to Buick's popular Verano sedan appears to be nigh, thanks to these spy photos that show the tweaked four-door testing in Germany.
As with the current Verano, the refreshed model will have a great deal in common with its European platform-mates, the Vauxhall/Opel Astra. Each car rides on General Motors's Delta II platform. Unlike the current car, though, the refreshed model's styling could lean more heavily towards its European roots, if these photos are any indication.
Despite its commonality with the Astra Sedan, the Verano has featured its own unique styling since arriving in the US back in 2011 as a 2012 model, with distinct fascias at both the front and back, as wells its own headlight and taillight designs. The two cars were still rebadged vehicles, but it was more subtle than it will be in 2015, when the refreshed Verano arrives. Astra-like elements are expected to dominate, particularly in regards to the headlights and taillights. That said, trademark Buick styling features will remain, like the waterfall grille. Really, then, the 2016 Verano won't be unlike the Regal - a rebadged Vauxhall/Opel Insignia, aside from a few very small styling details.
