1969 BUICK ELECTRA...with 67,000 original miles. This is a New Mexico native. THIS CAR HAS NO RUST, NO DINGS AND NO DENTS.

The dash, seats and carpet are in excellent condition. The power windows, power steering, antenna, wipers, lights, turn signals and radio all work. Recently the speedometer and odometer stopped working due to the cruise control. The odometer was registered in 2009 at 60,092 miles (see pics). We know that the current milage is original. The power seats work but you have to push down on the control to get them to work. The passenger side power seats work great. There are a few stains on the seats but nothing major. The drivers side sun visor needs to be reupholstered. There is water damage to the headliner due to a leak from the back window(see pics).

Exterior

The body of this car is in perfect condition. There are no dents or rust that is visible. The paint is original. There was water damage in the back window due to the vinyl top that had a leak. The vinyl top has been pulled and all damage has been repaired. The rear window is not secured because the car was being prepped for paint. All chrome is there for the window and trim of the car (see pics).

Mechanical

This car runs super smooth and is ready to drive.  It's got a 430-3 powerful hot rod motor. The engine has 67,000 original miles. The transmission is good and the car shifts smoothly. It has all new tires including the spare. The car also has a new muffler and pipes as well as a new electronic ignition. The gas tank was cleaned and the carburetor was rebuilt. There was a slight oil leak so the head gaskets were replaced.

This car is a GEM!

Happy Bidding!

GM recalls 51k Enclave, Traverse, Acadia crossovers over fuel gauge inaccuracy

Mon, 05 May 2014

With all eyes fixed on General Motors in the wake of the ignition recall debacle, the auto giant has been carefully calling in a wide array of vehicles to fix anything and everything that could prove problematic. Just the other day it issued two separate recalls - one concerning the Cadillac SRX and another its heavy-duty pickups - and now it is issuing another.
This time the vehicles in question are the Buick Enclave, Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia, three fullsize crossovers based on GM's Lambda platform. In an estimated 51,640 units manufactured between March 26 and August 15, 2013, the engine control module has been found to incorrectly display the level of fuel in the tank.
As a result, owners are being notified to bring their vehicles in to their local dealers to have the ECU reflashed to fix the problem. View the full details in the announcement below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

GM recalls 500K Chevy Camaros for ignition-switch defect

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

General Motors issued a recall for more than a half million Chevrolet Camaros on Friday morning because of an ignition-switch safety hazard that mirrors the one at the center of the company's current crisis.
The problem affects Camaro models from the 2010 to 2014 model years. Approximately 464,712 cars are impacted in the United States, and 511,528 overall in North America. GM will alter the Camaro key to a more standard design, and will notify car owners with a recall notice in the mail.
In an announcement, the company said the ignition switches on the Camaros are fundamentally different parts than the older ignition switches found on defective cars that are responsible for killing at least 13 people and causing 54 crashes.
