This has been my daily driver for about a year. It includes an extended platinum warranty from IWS until 91029 miles. Great coverage which is transferable to the new owner. Have used it before and it really covers a lot of repairs.

I wanted a LOADED BMW so this is the one I bought. Black on black with Dark Bamboo trim.

The sticker price on this X6 is over 10K over most of them I've seen and includes every awesome BMW luxury you'd want.

  • Comfort access unlocks the vehicle when you have the key and touch the door handle..also starts the car without the key being in the ignition
  • Soft close doors.. sounded silly but it's great..just ease the door shut and it pulls it in for you, no slamming required!
  • Air conditioned seats...self explanatory..blows air on your back :)
  • Lane departure warning- monitors the lanes and if you start drifting out of lane (driving too late) it will vibrate the steering wheel to put you in check
  • Top view camera system-- uses cameras all over the place to give you a top view of the car. Almost like magic
  • Backup camera
  • Dealer installed tow package
  • Sport package with adaptive drive.. adjusts the suspension and driving dynamics.. 4100 dollar option worth every penny
  • Side metal/rubber running boards
  • heated rear seats
  • Premium Package..bluetooth, auto dimming, digital compass, garage openers, etc
  • Cold weather package: ski bag goes through the back armrest, retracting headlight washers..heated wheel
  • Premium sound..iPod hookup..great speakers..bluetooth
  • Rear climate package including retractable sun screens and heated seats in rear, etc
  • Navigation
Great driving BMW. Very practical and very powerful. You'll thank yourself for having the extended warranty opposed to buying elsewhere or for a huge fee..with this vehicle it's included. IWS charges 40 dollars for a transfer. This warranty would cost you thousands of dollars if purchased separately.

It's my daily driver, so the mileage at time of sale might be *slightly* higher than what is listed. It has some cosmetic bugs such as small scratches here and there, a very tiny ding on the door, some curb rash, etc. If you want a mint one you'll need to fork over 40k more on a 2014 ;)

Any questions I'll respond quickly. Thanks for stopping by!

BMW mulled ten, eight, and six-cylinder engines for i8 before going hybrid

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

There's little doubt that the 2015 BMW i8 is one of the most radical and groundbreaking performance cars this industry has seen in a long time. From its unique carbon-intensive construction to its 1.5-liter, three-cylinder and electric motor plug-in powertrain to its concept-car appearance, the flagbearer for BMW's new i venture challenges the very notion of what it takes to be a supercar.
Yet apparently the i8 almost didn't do that at all. Yes, it probably still would've had innovative assembly techniques, serious performance and come-hither bodywork, but according to a new report in the Telegraaf, it was very nearly a much more conventional beast, drawing its power from a V10 engine. According to the report, that line of development never got much beyond the drawing board, but BMW engineers then shifted their focus to both V8 and six-cylinder motivation, going so far as to build prototype cars. The higher cylinder-count engines were eventually dropped altogether after BMW decided to turn the i8 into a hybrid, with the six-cylinder reportedly nixed due to heat management and weight issues. In the end, of course, BMW went with the PHEV powertrain that offers a total system output of 362 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque - plenty of thrust for this lightweight, all-wheel drive coupe while still enabling an incredible 94 miles to the gallon on the EU cycle. Regardless of how it turned out, it's still fascinating to think that BMW didn't have a much firmer conceptual idea of what it was after when it started the i8's development.
Here at Autoblog, we're genuinely thrilled about this new generation of greener hybrid super- and hypercars, a movement spearheaded by the i8, Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1. But even so, our inner-gearheads can't help but wonder what might have been had BMW pursued a more conventional i8, either in place of, or in addition to, the car they did build. What do you think? Have your say in Comments.

2014 BMW 4 Series Convertible [w/video]

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

Here it is, the fifth generation of BMW's 3 Series Convertible - only this one begins with a "4," having been rechristened as a droptop version of the new 4 Series Coupe. With thirty years of work on this same recipe and having gotten it so right for much of that time, the Munich compact premium convertible has been a WYSIWYG affair for decades: once you saw its sedan paradigm, you knew what it was going to look like in roofless two-door form, and what you saw is exactly what you got.
It is ridiculous to think that BMW would choose this new model and its new nomenclature to muck things up. The new car has, though, gotten larger and roomier, and even though it's now part of the racier coupe division within the company's compact line, it has gotten more, shall we say, mature. Driving even further away from the days when handsomely tipped bartenders could work their way into one, The Ultimate Tanning Machine had shed even more elan, going instead for elegance and an attitude befitting its $49,675 starting price (including $925 for destination).
It strikes a few odd notes, but what it does best, it still does better than anything else out there in its price range.

2014 BMW R NineT

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

BMW is taking a page from the Harley-Davidson playbook with its groundbreaking R NineT. A retro cafe racer with an urban hooligan twist, the bike is fully customizable from fork to exhaust. Of course, any motorcycle can be customized, but the fact that BMW has built its newest bike to encourage modification using parts that can be swapped with simple tools is a radical move for a motorcycle maker best known for its plug-and-play touring bikes.
To underscore exactly how radical, BMW has even partnered with custom heavy-hitter Roland Sands Design, which developed the initial concept for the bike and is now manufacturing a full line of parts and accessories for the R NineT, including radial valve covers ($950), retro racing saddles ($400-$420), radial gauge housing ($400) and a radial headlight bezel ($250), among other things, all of which can be swapped with a socket wrench or screwdriver instead of a hacksaw, wire cutters and TIG welder.
Alas, the bike I tested for two weeks was stock, so consider it a blank canvas.
