I have had this BMW for last four years, absolutely love it, has been a weekend and sunny weather pleasure drive vehicle for me and the wife, the exterior of the vehicle is beautiful black finish with minimal natural wear for a 1997 model, the interior black leather is in great shape with no scratches or damage. I have upgraded the wheels to the 17" BMW originals with new tires with less than a 1000 miles on them, I do have the original 16" wheels and tires available if the winning bidder is interested. The engine runs like new and it has had regular service. This car is a real head turner and a last year of production of its model, a real 1990's excess, it is a autobahn cruiser with a muscle car power. As I have indicated above the car has a reconstructed title, from the information I have gathered, a fender bender resulted in, replacement of, driver side fender , turn signal/ fog lamp, and driver side door, because of the year and the high cost of replacement parts insurance decided on a write off . There is no damage anywhere to be found and the car is perfect . This car has it all, even traction and stability control, unheard of in 97' vehicles. I am so confident of this car , I am offering a one week return option to the winning bidder - only- if he/she did not have chance to inspect the car prior to auction close and finds any serious issue with the vehicle, return is only for a damage existing prior to sale, and will not be honored just because you change your mind or don't like the car anymore, less the $500 deposit. The MID display (in the pictures) is loosing pixels a fix is $130, I just did not have time to take care of it. The car just had a Pennsylvania inspection good till 10/14, new batteries installed in March 12', brakes done April 13' I also strongly encourage you to inspect the car prior to bidding if you can. I am not a car dealer and do not provide warranties or shipping. Check the value of 1997 BMW with 57 k miles on Kelly Blue book, average 13-14 k that is if you can find one like this. 2015 BMW M4 Coupe
Mon, 12 May 2014Launched out of the seat by a huge, unexpected dip in the road, yet still held largely in place by the smooth webbing of my safety belt, I clench my teeth waiting to come back to earth. A tenth of a second later, the M4 Coupe touches down and my body is slammed into the leather seat cushion. All of the air is forced out of my lungs upon landing, but the BMW's chassis, suspension and steering appear unfazed. Pleasantly surprised, I mash the accelerator to the floor in giddy pursuit of the car in front of me - an absolutely identical 2015 BMW M4 coupe.
A cavorting game of cat-and-mouse on a desolate twisty canyon in southern Portugal is an excellent way to explore the real-world driving dynamics and performance of BMW's all-new M4 Coupe. But to truly push it to the limit - without having to worry about oversize depressions in the asphalt - requires a dedicated racetrack. Graciously, my hosts have rented the famed Autódromo Internacional do Algarve racetrack, or Portimão circuit, for an afternoon of automotive debauchery.
It's hard to believe this passes for work.
2015 BMW i8: Autoblog Technology of the Year finalist

Traditionally, nominations for the Autoblog Technology of the Year award are earned for specific developments - a new-think powertrain, a uniquely developed material, a groundbreaking smartphone app, or what have you. In the case of BMW's marvelous i8, it so bristles with novel applied sciences and fresh features that we broke with tradition and nominated the entire car.
We just couldn't help ourselves. Oh, we could've focused on the i8's carbon-fiber monocoque, or its well-resolved plug-in-hybrid powertrain that incorporates a tiny 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine and an electric motor, or its seamless through-the-road all-wheel drive. This is a car that will even have frickin' laser beams for headlights - at least it will for our friends in Europe (and it will in the US, should our legislators ever catch up).
Is Audi getting complacent and suffering from brain drain?
Wed, 27 Nov 2013The argument is made in a Reuters article: Audi is falling behind other luxury brands, such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, due to a lack of research-and-development spending and "brain drain," or the migration of top executives and R&D chiefs to other parts of the Volkswagen Group. Reuters notes that Audi's current R&D chief is the third in 16 months.
Audi, which contributed to 40 percent of VW Group's $11.6 billion in profit the first nine months of the year, is delivering cars at a record pace: 1.31 million were delivered from January to October 2013 versus BMW's 1.35 million. Yet Audi, Reuters reports, doesn't have a halo car akin to BMW's new electrified i3 and i8 or an answer to Mercedes' plug-in-hybrid S-Class, and the R&D spending at Audi is less than BMW and Mercedes by a fair margin. It's noted in the article, however, that Audi benefits from other R&D spending within VW Group.
Reuters mentions that BMW "trumpets its new 'i' series" and the new Mercedes CLA and GLA ranges are winning "rave reviews" as part of its argument that Audi's recent lack of technological innovation could hurt future sales. Those cars do pack tons of new technology, some of which are firsts for mainstream production cars. But last time we checked, the i3 could be causing BMW's stock to slide, the CLA isn't receiving the rave reviews that Reuters would have you believe and the GLA hasn't been reviewed yet.
