This has been my personal weekend car since 2005. I am selling as I
bought another car and I need the space and money for project. I believe
I am the 4th owner. This car was original lease from South Motors BMW,
in Miami Florida, returned and sold to a doctor who moved to PA if I
remember right, and later sold to a BMW sales person who sold to me in
2005 in SC when his wife became pregnant. I have a big folder with lots
of service records. I have recently done an oil change, and bought the
front kidney grills (both) along with the driver's side key lock
mechanism, which needs to be replaced as the driver's side door is not
opening from the outside. I also described the following that needs to
be done: Headline interior, sunroof has 3 rust spots, front and rear
bumpers need a paint job, driver side door stopper is out of place (no
need replacement), and a new suspension (shocks/struts) which is the
most expensive job. When cleaning the inside headliner, I broke the
small lid/door that closes the sunroof buttons. The sunroof works fine,
however the headliner must be redone, and I have never got to it. I have
stored the car in my dad's garage, but the heat in Miami has made it
all loose, and since I do not drive much I also did not work on it.
Tires are new (less than 3000 miles), brakes are good, transmission and
engine are PERFECT, and I also replaced with 2 new batteries about a
year ago. Parking light needs to be repaired as the warning comes on.
Everything else works and the car drives very smooth. I also fixed the
exhaust tips but they are not original and those were the closest I
found to the original. I tried to be very honest and clear about the
car. Test drives are welcome if any local buyers. Please contact me to

2014 BMW 6 Series gets Frozen Brilliant White convertible, manual option for M6
Mon, 25 Mar 2013BMW has announced updates to the 6 Series lineup today, including a special "Frozen" edition of the convertible, and a 640i Gran Coupe in all-wheel-drive trim.
The 2014 BMW 6 Series Convertible Frozen Brilliant White Edition (catchy name, right?) will be available from select BMW dealers this May, and will offer buyers the signature paint, Frozen Black mirror caps, a black grille and uniquely designed, 20-inch M Performance wheels. Just 100 examples of the FBWE 6er will be produced, with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive cars in the mix, for starting prices of $106,995 and $110,095, respectively (both prices include $895 in destination and handling charges).
BMW has also informed us that all of its 6 Series Gran Coupe models will now be available with the company's xDrive all-wheel-drive system. No pricing has been given for the xDrive versions of the car as of yet.
BMW and Mini getting GoPro integration
Fri, 13 Jun 2014The small, high-quality and relatively inexpensive GoPro camera has been revolutionary for Internet video, especially of cars. Imagine how much awesomeness and hilarity we would have missed without them. Finding ways to integrate the cams into performance cars is becoming increasingly popular among automakers, as well. For example, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette has its Performance Data Recorder, and Volkswagen is giving GoPros to early buyers of the 2015 GTI. BMW Group is going straight to the source for its rendition, though, with a new app that allows drivers to control a GoPro from inside of some BMW and Mini vehicles.
In July, owners with 2012 or later models equipped with BMW Apps or Mini Connected can download the new app. There are a few hurdles to jump over, though. Not only do users need a model with the infotainment system, a WiFi-equipped GoPro camera is also required. The app also must be installed on an iPhone connected to the vehicle.
Once all of those stipulations are met, the app can configure and control the GoPro through iDrive and display a nearly live image on the infotainment system. Menus are simplified on-screen but still allow users to select among six camera modes, aim it and start and stop recording. While filming, it shows recording time, battery life and signal strength. While BMW's approach isn't quite as nicely integrated as the Corvette's solution, it's interesting to see automakers working to make filming easier. Scroll down to read the full announcement.
2015 BMW i8 [w/video]
Mon, 28 Apr 2014The most important thing to keep in mind while driving BMW's all-new i8 is that it's not a product of the company's vaunted M division.
Sleek sports-coupe design, carbon-fiber construction and blistering acceleration may cause automotive enthusiasts to drool, but the i8 has not been conceptualized, engineered or assembled to be another one of BMW's world-class track stars. Instead, the i8 has been hatched as a progressive sports car from the Bavarian outfit's new i division, which "represents visionary electric vehicles and mobility services, inspiring design and a new understanding of premium that is strongly defined by sustainability." Think of it as thrilling, but with an engaging environmental twist.
It's nearly impossible to walk up to the i8 with stopping twenty feet short and taking in its styling. There's no other production car as visually fascinating - this BMW is showroom-ready sculpture that captures all of the essence of the Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept that wowed crowds at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The wind sees it as a 0.26 drag coefficient, but humans will study its beautifully crafted carbon fiber and glass panels and realize they're in the presence of the future.
